Vacation Pay upon Termination or Death. Termination of employment for any reason shall not result in forfeiture of vacation benefits theretofore accrued, and such vacation benefits, if not already paid, shall be paid with the final pay check. If a classified employee otherwise entitled to vacation benefits dies, his or her vacation benefits earned to the date of death shall be paid to his or her spouse, designated beneficiary, or estate.

Vacation Pay upon Termination or Death. In the event that an employee is terminated under the provisions of Article XIII (Promotions, Demotions, Furloughs, and Employee Security and Termination Pay) prior to taking any approved carry-over vacation or any portion of the current year’s entitlement, the employee shall receive an amount of pay equal to the remaining vacation time to which he was entitled. In the event of the death of an employee prior to taking any approved carry-over vacation or any portion of the current year’s entitlement, the employee’s beneficiary shall receive an amount of pay equal to the remaining vacation time to which he was entitled.
Vacation Pay upon Termination or Death. After six (6) months service, upon the termination of an employee for any reason, or in the event of the death of an employee, all accumulated vacation shall be paid either to the employee or his/her heirs, whichever the case may be. Payment shall be made at the rate of pay in effect at termination and at the same time the employee’s final paycheck is presented. Should the employee’s death occur prior to the completion of six months of service, the employee’s heirs shall receive any accumulated vacation pay.
