Annual Military Duty. 22-1 An employee who is a member of the armed forces reserve or National Guard and who loses time from work during the employee's normal schedule of work to participate in annual military training or for service required as result of a civil disorder or other temporary emergency shall be granted an excused absence from work not to exceed fifteen (15) work days in any one calendar year. Such an employee will be paid for the time lost at the employee's hourly rate plus shift premium, if applicable. Armed forces reserve or National Guard base pay shall be offset against such pay. Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, such service shall be considered time worked. The employee shall furnish the University with written evidence of service and the amount of base pay the employee was eligible to receive. If an employee receives vacation pay during a period of training or service, the employee shall not be eligible for the pay provided by this Article for that period of time for which the employee received vacation pay.

Annual Military Duty. A faculty member who is ordered to active duty during an academic period in which they are scheduled to work, upon their written request, shall be granted a military leave of absence, normally not to exceed fifteen (15) business days in any fiscal year (July 1 through June 30), to engage in a temporary tour of duty with the National Guard or any recognized branch of the United States Military Service. Such leave shall be credited as continuous service with the University. The faculty member shall be paid the difference between their regular rate of pay and the amount received for military duty.

Annual Military Duty. 18.4.2.1 A unit member who is ordered to active duty during an academic period in which he/she is scheduled to work, upon written request shall be granted a leave with pay, normally not to exceed fifteen (15) working days, to engage in any temporary tour of duty with the National Guard or any recognized branch of the Armed Forces, provided that said unit member remits to the University any military pay earned for those days which would have been his/her normal work days at the University. In those instances where military pay exceeds University pay, only the amount equivalent to University pay for days involved is to be reimbursed to the University. Unit members serving in reserve units shall make every effort to fulfill their annual military obligation at times that will not disrupt the academic program.
