VERIFICATION OF ABSENCES. Whenever the District requires a unit member to provide written verification of the reasons for any absence from work, the District will (with the unit member’s permission) notify the KCTA President or designee. The District shall determine the type of written verification the unit member must provide from the following three alternatives:
1. Statement of the unit member
2. Statement of the unit member's supervisor
3. Physician's statement regarding illness or injury: If the District doubts the validity of the physician’s written verification, the District may direct the unit member to provide further verification from a physician selected by the unit member from a panel of three doctors designated by the District. Whenever the District directs a unit member to obtain a doctor’s verification, the District shall reimburse the unit member for any expense incurred in securing the verification.
VERIFICATION OF ABSENCES. The Agency may require medical or other verification of the need for PTO time off for medical reasons, as well as medical releases to return to work as set forth in Article 20, Section 6.
