Common use of Violence Prevention and Control Clause in Contracts

Violence Prevention and Control. The parties agree that violence shall be defined as any incident in which an employee is abused, threatened or assaulted while performing his or her work. The parties agree that such incidents will not be condoned. Any employee who has been subjected to such incident shall report this to a supervisor. The Employer will take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of the worker. The Employer in consultation with the Joint Occupational Health and Safety committee shall develop written policies to address the management of violent behaviour.
