Common use of Voluntary Shifts Clause in Contracts

Voluntary Shifts. Shifts in addition to a nurse’s master schedule cannot 5 result in overtime and must be approved in advance by the manager. 6 a. Regular and resource nurses from a department other than the 7 Hospice House, who with manager approval have been formally cross-trained, 8 may volunteer for shifts in the Hospice House, but cannot be mandatorily 9 required to work any shift(s) in that department. 10 11 b. Regular nurses from Home Health or Hospice may voluntarily accept 12 shift(s) to replace an on-call nurse. Resource nurses from Home Health or 13 Hospice may accept on-call shift(s) if departmental staffing needs allow. 14 15 c.
