In the event it becomes necessary to change the scheduled work hours in any area, the basic State shall notify the Union President and the parties hereto shall make every effort to agree mutually on the hours for such schedules and fix the hours subject to the grievance procedure and arbitration provisions of this Agreement. In the event that a new schedule for hours of work day is agreed upon, that schedule shall be eight posted and bid upon in accordance with seniority provisions of this Agreement.
C. 1. Those classification/job titles in the bargaining unit that work a thirty-five (8) consecutive working hours exclusive of any lunch period35) hour standard, and the basic non-standard or variable work week shall not be changed.
2. Those classifications that work a forty (40) hour standard, non-standard or variable work week shall not be changed.
3. Those classifications/job titles found newly appropriate to this bargaining unit which were heretofore forty (40) hours positions may be employed in a forty (40) hour week.
4. Those classifications/job titles found newly appropriate to this bargaining unit which were heretofore non-standard work week positions may be employed in a non-standard work week.
D. Part Time Employees All part-time employees shall receive annual leave, personal leave, sick leave and fringe benefits in accordance with the following:
1. Employed twenty (20) hours-annual leave, Monday personal leave and sick leave on a pro- rata basis, with full fringe benefits provided.
2. Employed sixteen (16) hours or less than twenty (20) hours per week – annual leave, personal leave and sick leave on a pro-rata basis, with fringe benefits provided in accordance with present practice.
E. Employees shall be granted a fifteen (15) minute coffee break during the first half and the second half of their work day. All employees shall be granted a meal period of not less than one-half (1/2) hour duration and no more than one (1) hour duration during each work day.
F. Shift hours upon being scheduled will be posted.
G. Employees, including students, not included in the recognized bargaining unit shall not perform work normally assigned to employees in the bargaining unit to replace/displace said employees except in an emergency situation unless mutually agreed to by the Association President.
H. Student employment shall only be provided subject to the following conditions:
1. Students will not be employed to perform bargaining unit work for more than twenty (20) hours per week per student, except for vacation periods.
2. All student employees shall be processed through Fridayone office in the College such as Financial Aid Office.
3. The basic College will continue past practice regarding student help.
4. Student employees shall not have access to the personal, professional, or education records of students, faculty or staff, unless necessary to perform assigned duties.

In the Refuse Service Division electronically, of the Public Works Department, employees shall be every bargaining unit member assigned to either work in a higher class of the following work schedules at the sole discretion of the employer: Yard Waste Collection Work Scheduleposition pursuant to this article. B. Custodians/Maintenance & Security Officers The normal work day shall consist of eight (8) hours and basic the normal work week shall consist of forty (40) hours Monday through Friday both inclusive. However, nothing contained herein shall be construed to constitute a guarantee of eight (8) hours of work per day or forty (40) hours of work per week.
(1) First shift custodians shall be granted a one (1) hour unpaid lunch period at or near the mid-point of their workday. First shift maintenance shall be granted a one-half (1/2) hour on site paid lunch period at or near the mid-point of their work day. Security Officers are entitled to the schedule established for first shift maintenance employees.
(2) Second and third shift custodial maintenance employees shall be granted a one- half (A) hour paid lunch period at or near the mid-point of their work day. Those employees on a one-half (%) hour paid lunch period shall remain available for work call on site during such lunch period.
(3) All employees are expected to be at their assigned work site at the starting time of their shift.
(4) It is understood and agreed that if the third shift starts on Sunday night it shall be construed to have been worked in its entirety on Monday, or if it ends on Saturday morning it shall be construed to be worked in its entirety on Friday for the purposes of this Agreement.
(5) All employees shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute on site break period at or near the mid-point of the first half of their work day and a fifteen (15) minute on site break period at or near the mid-point of the second half of their work day. It is understood and agreed that timing of the lunch and/or break periods may vary depending on the nature of the work being performed by the employee at the time, it being recognized that under certain conditions it will be impossible for employees to take a break period until the urgent aspect of the job then being performed has been completed. The lunch and break periods shall apply to employees who are regularly scheduled to work six (6) or more hours per day.
(6) In the event of a scheduled shift change for a custodial/maintenance employee, the Employer shall give five (5) working days which notice to the affected employee. If a custodian’s shift is changed by two (2) hours or more he/she shall be Monday through Friday. E. In the event an Employee is not able to report for work at his/her regularly scheduled time, he/she should notify his/her department head prior to the scheduled starting time.
F. Where variations in normal Employee work schedules are necessary, they may be arranged in advance with the appropriate administrative head. Administrative heads are encouraged to consider the concept of flexible scheduling.
G. Changes in established work day or work week will be made only after prior notification and consultation with representatives of the Union.
H. Library Assistants assigned a Monday-Friday work week, whose schedule includes only one afternoon/evening assignment, will be given an additional forty-five (45) minutes meal time on the day they work the afternoon/evening assignment.
I. Library Assistants assigned to the circulation desk in the Xxxxx Library will be scheduled on a five (5) day work week, Monday through Friday.
