Year Seminar. A student who enters in the second semester of the first year must complete that semester of the seminar. A student who transfers into the College after the second semester of the first year is exempt from the seminar.
Year Seminar. All First-Year students are required to take two semesters during their initial year at Bard. (Second semester First-Year transfer students are required to participate in the program for one semester.) The Seminar is a writing-intensive course in which the student is introduced to important literary, philosophical, artistic, and scientific ideas, both historical and contemporary. Classroom time is primarily devoted to the close study of major works, which are chosen to represent a wide range of intellectual discourse. Year Seminar. First-Year Seminar courses introduce students to the pursuit of intellectual inquiry. Seminars are designed to provide an opportunity to interact with outstanding faculty members while exploring nontraditional topics in nontraditional ways. One first-year seminar is required as part of UMW’s general education program. (Transfer students are not required to take a first-year seminar.) While there will be many different courses offered, everyone will not be able to enroll in a seminar in the fall semester. Students who do not take the course in the fall should sign up for it in the spring semester. Specific topics will vary from course to course, but all will include  college as you imagined it: a life of the mind taught by great faculty  small classes, capped at 15 students each  active, discussion-based formats  exploration of primary texts rather than textbooks  critical examination of the class literature  development of writing and speaking skills [10] Any course numbered FSEM 100, HIST 201, HIST 202, or HONR 100 will satisfy the first-year seminar requirement.   • Petition for Annual Conference Session The Local Church acknowledges that pursuant to the governing standing rules of the Annual Conference, petitions for consideration of the legislative body must be submitted to the Secretary of the Annual Conference on or before April 1 of the current Annual Conference year. The Annual Conference will make reasonable efforts to assist the Local Church in completing the required petition, which will include this Disaffiliation Agreement as an attachment thereto making it subject to public review. If the petition is not filed in a timely manner, the Parties will make good faith efforts under the standing rules of the Annual Conference to cooperate to bring the petition to the legislative floor for consideration by appropriate motions to suspend the standing rules for the purposes of considering the petition.

  • PRE-BID CONFERENCE If so directed by the Owner, the Design Professional shall conduct a pre-bid conference at the location designated by the Owner. At the conference, the Design Professional shall record and address questions from participating Contractors. The Design Professional shall respond by addenda to questions from participating Contractors. The Design Professional shall invite response to, revise with approval of the Owner, and confirm any unit costs called for in the Supplementary General Conditions.   • Meetings and Conferences ‌ From time to time the Government may require attendance at Government conferences and meetings at no additional cost to the Government.

  • Annual Conference Vote This Disaffiliation Agreement must be “ratified by a simple majority of the members . . . present and voting” at a duly-called session of The Western North Carolina Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, as required by Judicial Council Decision 1379 and ¶ 2529.1b(3)

  • Conference Telephone Meetings Directors or members of any committee of the Board may participate in a meeting of the Board or such committee by means of conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other, and such participation in a meeting shall constitute presence in person at such meeting.
