Zero Hour Classes. If, in the sole discretion of U.S.D. No. 108, there is a need for classes to be offered which cannot be scheduled during regular school hours, U.S.D. No. 108 may offer classes at a time or times outside of regular school hours. In the event that U.S.D. No. 108 determines to offer any classes at a time outside of regular school hours, it shall be authorized to contract with any teacher or teachers to teach such class. The compensation for teaching any class outside of the regular school day shall be mutually agreed to by the teacher and U.S.D. No. 108, and such agreement shall be a separate agreement from the teacher’s principal or primary contract and be under a supplemental contract as defined in K.S.A. 72-5412a. Further, no other provision of the Master Agreement of U.S.D. No. 108 and the Washington County Teachers’ Association shall be applicable to such contract. Zero Hour Classes. Zero hour classes will be scheduled and staffed according to the needs of the District. Certified staff shall receive notice of this academic stipend vacancy in accordance with VII.F.1 and may apply if interested. Teacher contract stipend for zero hour classes will be paid the equivalent of an additional 45 minutes period per 180 days of that teacher’s contract. Example for teacher with base pay: Base ($33807)/180/7¾ =hourly pay ($24.23) Hourly pay ($24.23) * ¾ * 180=Zero Hour stipend ($3271.05)
Zero Hour Classes. A full-time 1.0 FTE teacher who has a zero hour class, with mutual agreement of his/her building principal and with approval of the district, will receive a stipend equal to .2 FTE per year. This stipend will not add to the benefit allocation for the employee.
