Candidate shall mean any individual holding a probationary academic employee appointment. RCW 28B.50.851(4) uses the word “probationer,” and, for all purposes, “candidate” will replace “probationer” in this section. See Agreement, Article VIII, Tenure, Section B., Definitions. College shall mean Shoreline Community College and any other community college hereafter established in Community College District Number Seven. Conditions: Academic employees teaching eLearning courses are supported by Article XIII, Leaves; and Article VII, Section E.6.; and Article VII, Section F.1.b. Corrective Action: Corrective action is progressive, non-disciplinary action by a Unit Administrator to notify and provide a faculty member an opportunity to respond to a documented need to change or improve the performance of contracted responsibilities. Associate Academic Employee Appointment means assignment on a quarter-by-quarter basis, including quarter-by-quarter teaching assignments for academic employees otherwise employed full-time and coded moonlight in the State’s Management Information System (MIS). 2 An “affiliate academic employee appointment” means an associate faculty member has been awarded affiliate status according to the provisions of Article XXI Affiliate Status. Affiliate faculty are guaranteed certain rights and privileges in return for certain duties and responsibilities. 3 A “pro-rata academic assignment” provides annual contracts at the full-time rate of pay (prorated) to associate faculty with a guaranteed load of at least fifty (50) percent for three (3) consecutive quarters (normally fall, winter, and spring).

  • Academic employee Academic employee shall mean an employee in the Professional Services Negotiating Unit with academic or qualified academic rank.

  • Regularly appointed employee means an individual with an exempt, probationary or regular appointment to a position of City employment.

  • Public employer means the State of Oregon, and the following political subdivisions:

  • Public employee means an individual holding a position by appointment or employment in the government of this state, in the government of 1 or more of the political subdivisions of this state, in the public school service, in a public or special district, in the service of an authority, commission, or board, or in any other branch of the public service, subject to the following exceptions:

  • Restricted Appointment means (a) any Appointment for which the applicable Authorizations have not been obtained, and (b) any Appointment for which the maturity date of the applicable Corporate Trust Contract is on or before June 30, 2022.

  • Probationary appointment means employment for a designated period of time during which the probationer is evaluated as a candidate to be awarded tenure. In the event an academic employee is employed full-time as a temporary academic employee and the next year with a probationary appointment as an academic employee, the consecutive College quarters in which the individual was so employed full-time shall be credited towards tenure consideration.

  • Fixed term employee means a person engaged for a specified term or for the duration of a specified task in accordance with section 37(3)(b) of the State Service Act 2000.

  • Serviced Appointment has the meaning set forth in Section 1.1.

  • Supervisory employee means an employee, regardless of job description, having authority in the interest of the employer to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline other employees, or the responsibility to assign work to and direct them, or to adjust their grievances, or effectively recommend that action, if, in connection with the foregoing functions, the exercise of that authority is not of a merely routine or clerical nature, but requires the use of independent judgment.

  • Fixed-term employment means employment for a specified term or ascertainable period. The contract for this employment will specify the starting and finishing dates of that employment, (or in lieu of a finishing date, will specify the circumstance(s) or contingency relating to a specific task or project, upon the occurrence of which the term of the employment shall expire).

  • Related Employer means the Employer and (a) any corporation that is a member of a controlled group of corporations as defined in Code Section 414(b) that includes the Employer and (b) any trade or business that is under common control as defined in Code Section 414(c) that includes the Employer.

  • Managing Employee means a general manager, business manager, administrator, director, or other individual who exercises operational or managerial control over, or who directly or indirectly conducts the day-to-day operation of an institution, organization, agency or business entity;

  • Non-Key Employee means any Employee who is not a Key Employee.

  • Ongoing employee means an employee who has been employed for at least one complete standard measurement period.

  • Participating public employer means a public employer as defined in ORS 238.005 that

  • Initial appointment means appointment made otherwise than by promotion or transfer;

  • Contract employee means an employee performing services under a PEO services contract or temporary help services contract.

  • Client employer means an Employer that is involved in a Tri-Party Employment Relationship due to obtaining the services of a third-party entity.

  • Provisional appointment means the employment of a person to a vacant position for no more than a six-month period for emergency or in interim conditions. The General Manager may extend a provisional appointment for up to an additional six-month period.

  • Continuing Employee has the meaning set forth in Section 6.7(a).

  • Public employees retirement system means the retirement plan and program

  • Affiliated Employer means any corporation which is a member of a controlled group of corporations (as defined in Code Section 414(b)) which includes the Employer; any trade or business (whether or not incorporated) which is under common control (as defined in Code Section 414(c)) with the Employer; any organization (whether or not incorporated) which is a member of an affiliated service group (as defined in Code Section 414(m)) which includes the Employer; and any other entity required to be aggregated with the Employer pursuant to Regulations under Code Section 414(o).

  • Affiliated employee means any individual employed by a recipient who receives compensation directly from government assistance or a contract with the District of Columbia government, including any employee of a contractor or subcontractor of a recipient who performs services pursuant to government assistance or a contract. The term “affiliated employee” does not include those individuals who perform only intermittent or incidental services with respect to the government assistance or contract, or who are otherwise employed by the contractor, recipient or subcontractor.

  • Term Employee means an employee hired for a specific term of employment. The term of employment may be based on a specific period of time or the completion of a specific job or until the occurrence of a specified event.
