Behavior Supports definition

Behavior Supports means a positive training plan used by the foster provider and alternate caregivers to help a child in foster care develop the self control and self direction necessary to assume responsibilities, make daily living decisions, and learn to conduct themselves in a manner that is socially acceptable.
Behavior Supports means the services consistent with positive behavioral theory and practice that are provided to assist with behavioral challenges due to a child's the intellectual or developmental disability of a child that prevents the child from accomplishing activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, health related tasks, and cognitive supports to mitigate behavior. Behavior supports are provided in the home or community.
Behavior Supports means the techniques used by a licensee or staff to help a child achieve positive behavior and to address and correct inappropriate behavior in a constructive and safe manner. The methods used must be in accordance with written policies and procedures governing program expectations, child and staff safety, and the child's service plan.
