Free Television definition

Free Television means exhibition defined as Network Television and/or Syndicated Television.
Free Television means (a) exhibition over television broadcast stations, whether network stations or independent stations, where no charge is made to the viewer and/or (b) exhibition by means of satellite or cable television for which subscribing members of the public may pay for the transmission service provided by the satellite or cable system, but do not otherwise pay a premium for the programming transmitted by the satellite or cable system.
Free Television means a Linear Television Channel that is Broadcast “over-the-air” (whether in digital or analog format, standard definition or high definition, or otherwise) and which originates in or through government-licensed or authorized broadcast stations (either as part of a television network, as an affiliated station, as an individual station or otherwise) without a charge being made to the viewer for the privilege of viewing the Audiovisual Content contained in such over-the-air Broadcast (other than any tax, levy or fee imposed by any governmental, administrative or other public authority in the Territory). For the avoidance of doubt, “Free Television” shall also include any simultaneous (taking into account customary delays) re-transmission or simulcasts in the Territory of such “over-the-air” Broadcast (or additional national feeds to accommodate time zones) by means of any other Licensed Media (including pursuant to MVPD Arrangements and permitted Sublicensing Arrangements).

  • Free Television means the exhibition of a program on a home type television receiver which exhibition gives rise to no specific charge either for the program or for the channel on which the program is received and the program does not originate on a cable facility but is exhibited on Network Television and/or Syndicated Television.

  • If Licensee elects, in its sole discretion, not to co-produce the applicable movie, the applicable movie shall be deemed to be a Pantelion Movie hereunder and Licensee shall be licensed the Free Television Broadcast rights with respect to such Movie, as set forth in Section 3.5(c), and shall have a Right of First Opportunity / First Refusal to acquire Broadcast rights in other Licensed Media to such Pantelion Movie, as set forth in Section 3.5(d).

  • Free Television shall designate and mean the broadcast by a crypted or non crypted method, of a work by hertzian waves, satellite or cable, including IPTV, meant to be received on television sets as part of the programs of a network clearly received by the viewer without payment of a determined fee specific to that network, provided that for this purpose, government television assessments or taxes will not be deemed a charge to the viewer.

  • For the avoidance of doubt, Pantelion Movies shall constitute Licensed Content only to the extent of the license of Free Television Broadcast rights to Licensee under Section 1.1(a)(iii).


More Definitions of Free Television

Free Television means television channels which can be received by the public without additional payment. Licence fees and annual subscription fees to a cable network or communal aerial installation for reception of channels in accordance with section 5-2 are not regarded as additional payment.
Free Television any television programming that can be intelligibly received by a standard television for simultaneous, real-time viewing on a conventional television set, without payment of any fees or charges (other than any compulsory fees charged by a government or governmental agency assessed on those who use television sets) and for which the broadcaster thereof receives no fees or payments (other than revenues from commercial advertisements).
