Immediate family member or household means: • an employee’s spouse, child, parent, grandchild, grandparent or sibling; • a child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of the spouse of the employee; • for the purpose of this clause the word spouse means a former spouse, a de facto spouse or a former de facto spouse.

Should an employee be required to take personal leave at the Employers request, the amount of leave taken shall be debited from the Employees personal/carers leave accruals.

Examples of Immediate family member or household in a sentence

  • In order to access an entitlement to bereavement leave, employees must as soon as practicable, inform the Supervisor or Manager of the following: e) That the employee will be absent from work because of the death of an Immediate family member or household member; f) The period of the absence including the requirement for additional time off for the purposes of travel; and g) The name of the person who has died and that person's relationship to the employee.
