Measures of Student Learning definition

Measures of Student Learning means the change in student achievement in relation to Colorado Academic Standards for an individual student between two or more points in time, which shall be determined using multiple measures, one of which shall be the results of Statewide Summative Assessments, and which may include other standards- based measures that are rigorous and comparable across classrooms of similar content areas and levels. Student Academic Growth also may include gains in progress towards postsecondary and workforce readiness. Student Academic Growth may include progress toward academic and functional goals included in an individualized education program and/or progress made towards Student Academic Growth Objectives.

It is the equivalent of a “performance standard,” as defined in section 22-9-103 (2.5), C.R.S. The four Performance Evaluation ratings for educators shall be: ineffective, partially effective, effective, and highly effective.

Examples of Measures of Student Learning in a sentence

  • For the 2014-15 school year and thereafter the DOE shall create new measures (referred to as “Linked Measures”) for Local and State Measures of Student Learning such that there is an option for each teacher to be evaluated based upon assessment results of students he/she teaches.

  • If only one of the State or Local Measures of Student Learning subcomponents be based on Linked Measures or Group Measures, the rating shall be appealed to the principal, who shall have the discretion to increase the teacher’s overall APPR rating.

  • Multiple Measures of Student Learning: Measures must include a combination of classroom, school and district assessments, student growth percentiles on state assessments, if state assessments are available, and student MEPA gain scores.

  • The DOE and UFT shall establish a Measures of Student Learning Central Committee consisting of an equal number of members selected by the DOE and the UFT (herein referred to as the “MOSL Central Committee”).

  • The MOSL Central Committee shall also examine the current range of options and discuss expanded options for the State and Local Measures of Student Learning including, but not limited to, subject-based assessments, the use of portfolios, project-based learning, and/or semi-annualized/term course assessments.

  • If the teacher receives an “Effective” subcomponent rating on the Measures of Teaching Practice, there shall be a presumption that the overall APPR rating shall be modified by the DOE such that the overall “Ineffective” rating becomes a “Developing” rating if both the State and Local Measures of Student Learning subcomponents are based on Linked Measures or Group Measures.

  • In the event that Measures of Student Learning (MOSL) assessment options do not include options for non-annualized courses: (1) in a school where each of the terms covers content where the second term builds on content from the first, the fall teacher shall administer the baseline and the spring teacher shall administer the post-test.

  • Any issue regarding the implementation of the APPR Plan with respect to the Measures of Student Learning and scoring that was not addressed in the Commissioner’s Decision, shall be resolved through negotiations between the parties and, in the absence of an agreement, referred to the State Education Department for clarification.The Parties agree to submit a draft APPR Plan to the State Education Department no later than May 15, 2014.

  • Indicate the type of product and equipment to be used for the service:a.

  • The NYCDOE will provide each school with flexible per-session funding to be used to support the implementation of Measures of Student Learning through a School Allocation Memo (SAM).

Related to Measures of Student Learning

  • Indicators of student progress and growth means the results of assessment(s) of students as defined in N.J.A.C. 6A:8, Standards and Assessment.

  • Learning Programme means a programme of education and/or training delivered by the Provider under this Agreement;

  • financial recovery plan means a plan prepared in terms of section 141 of the MFMA

  • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan means the Schedule containing plans and provisions for business continuity and disaster recovery.

  • Free appropriate public education means special education and related services that are provided at public expense and under public supervision and direction, and without charge, meet the standards of the Department of Public Instruction, include an appropriate preschool, elementary or secondary school education; and are provided in conformity with an IEP.

  • Disaster Recovery Plan means has the meaning set out in paragraph 1.2.3 of schedule 5 (Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity);

  • Development order means any order granting, denying, or granting with conditions an application for a development permit.

  • Rape Crisis Center means an office, institution, or center offering assistance to victims of sexual offenses through crisis intervention, medical and legal information, and follow-up counseling.

  • Independent living program means a program designed to assist a juvenile to enhance skills and abilities necessary for successful adult living and may include but shall not be limited to minimal direct staff supervision and supportive services in making the arrangements necessary for an appropriate place of residence, completing an education, vocational training, obtaining employment or other similar services;

  • Disaster Recovery Services means the disaster recovery and/or business continuity services (as the context may require) to be provided by the Supplier pursuant to Schedule 5 (Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity);

  • Board of Studies means the Board of Studies of the University;

  • Objective medical evidence means reports of examinations or treatments; medical signs which are anatomical, physiological, or psychological abnormalities that can be observed; psychiatric signs which are medically demonstrable phenomena indicating specific abnormalities of behavior, affect, thought, memory, orientation, or contact with reality; or laboratory findings which are anatomical, physiological, or psychological phenomena that can be shown by medically acceptable laboratory diagnostic techniques, including but not limited to chemical tests, electrocardiograms, electroencephalograms, X-rays, and psychological tests;

  • Training program means an NCA-approved Iowa college, the Iowa law enforcement academy or an Iowa hospital approved by the department to conduct emergency medical care training.

  • Disaster Recovery shall be defined as the installation and storage of Product in ready-to-execute, back-up computer systems prior to disaster or breakdown which is not used for active production or development.

  • Disaster Recovery System means the system identified by the Supplier in the Supplier Solution which shall be used for the purpose of delivering the Disaster Recovery Services;

  • Peer-reviewed medical literature means a scientific study published only after having been critically

  • continuing professional development means the continuing professional development contemplated in section 32;

  • Nursing program means a series of courses leading to an LPN certificate or an ADN degree provided through a Wyoming community college; or a BSN degree or a Master’s degree provided through the University of Wyoming; or, in the case of a candidate for a doctoral degree, provided through an institution offering the required nursing education courses under contract with the WICHE, or in a distance nursing education program provided through a university that is regionally accredited.

  • System for Award Management (SAM) database means the primary Government repository for contractor information required for the conduct of business with the Government.

  • Business Criteria means any one or any combination of Income before Taxes, Net Income, Return on Equity, Return on Assets, Pre-tax Margin, Free Cash Flow, Valuation or EPS.

  • Mobile crisis outreach team means a crisis intervention service for minors or families of minors experiencing behavioral health or psychiatric emergencies.

  • Public School Student Accessing Courses at a Distance means a student who is scheduled for a full course load through the District and attends all classes virtually.

  • Dean of Students means the Dean of Students, his/her designee(s), or his/her representative(s).

  • Educational records means: those official records, files, and data directly related to a student and maintained by the school or local education agency, including but not limited to records encompassing all the material kept in the student's cumulative folder such as general identifying data, records of attendance and of academic work completed, records of achievement and results of evaluative tests, health data, disciplinary status, test protocols, and individualized education programs.
