Medical Expense Benefits definition

Medical Expense Benefits means those benefits payable under the Rules and Regulations of the Plan for specified expenses incurred in the treatment of a bodily injury or sickness.

• If such Injury shall independently of all other causes and within 180 days from the date of Injury solely result in any one of the following specific losses, the Insured Person or beneficiary may request the Company to pay the applicable amount below in addition to payment under the Medical Expense Benefits.

• Covered Expenses means the lesser of the reasonable and customary charge and the maximum benefit shown, for services or supplies listed, in the Schedule of Benefits and described in the Accident Medical Expense Benefits section of this Policy.

• These items may be covered as durable medical equipment through the Medical Expense Benefits of this PLAN.

• Please refer to the Medical Expense Benefits – Injury and Sickness section of the Certificate of Coverage for a description of the Covered Medical Expenses for which benefits are available.

More Definitions of Medical Expense Benefits

Medical Expense Benefits means medical expense benefits paid in accordance with N.J.S.A. 39:6A-4a or 39:6A-3.1 and N.J.A.C. 11:3-4.

Medical Expense Benefits means an amount not exceeding $250,000 per person per accident for reasonable expenses incurred for medical, surgical and dental treatment, professional nursing, hospital and rehabilitation services, x-ray and other diagnostic services, prosthetic devices, ambulance services, medication and other reasonable and necessary expenses incurred for treatment prescribed by persons licensed to practice medicine, surgery, psychology or chiropractic, or for any non-medical remedial treatment rendered in accordance with a recognized re- ligious method of healing; however, it does not include expenses in excess of those for a semiprivate room, unless more intensive care is medically required. If the limit of liability shown on the Declarations for Personal Injury Protection is $1,000,000, this amount is the maximum amount that shall apply only to injuries sustained by the named insured and relatives;
