Parental Absence definition

Parental Absence means an Employee’s absence from work: (a) by reason of pregnancy of the Employee, (b) by reason of birth of a child of the Employee, (c) by reason of the placement of a child with the Employee in connection with adoption of such child by such Employee, or (d) for purposes of caring for such child for a period beginning immediately following such birth or placement.
Parental Absence means an Employee's absence (i) by reason of the Employee's pregnancy, (ii) by reason of the birth of the Employee's child, (iii) by reason of the placement of a child with the Employee in connection with the Employee's adoption of the child, or (iv) for purposes of caring for such child for a period beginning immediately after such birth or placement.

Examples of Parental Absence in a sentence

  • Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, solely for purposes of determining whether an Employee or Participant has incurred a One Year Period of Severance, the Severance from Employment Date of an Employee who is absent from Service beyond the first anniversary of the first date of absence by reason of a Parental Absence is the second anniversary of the first date of such absence.
