Adoption of a Child. A teacher adopting a child may request personal leave 29 without pay to become effective at any time during the first year after receiving 30 de facto custody of a child, or prior to receiving such custody if necessary, and only 31 to the extent required, to fulfill the requirements for adoption. The conditions and 32 procedures for adoption leave shall be outlined under the applicable section of 33 maternity leave in this article. Only one adoption leave per household will be 34 granted at any given time.

Adoption of a Child. Parental leave will be granted to any employee who has adopted a child and who meets the eligibility criteria outlined in this section. Either or both adoptive parents may be granted a leave of absence for a period not exceeding thirty-seven (37) continuous weeks. Application for such leave must be requested at least two (2) weeks prior to the child reaching fifty-two (52) weeks of age. Adoption of a Child. 43.6.1 An employee seeking to adopt a child shall be entitled to two (2) days unpaid leave to attend interviews or examinations required for the adoption procedure. Employees working or residing outside the Perth metropolitan area are entitled to an additional day’s unpaid leave. The employee may take any paid leave entitlement in lieu of this leave.
Adoption of a Child. An employee who is adopting a child may use up to ten (10) days of his or her accrued sick leave for the purpose of caring for the needs of the newly adopted child.
Adoption of a Child. (a) The employee will notify the Employer at least ten weeks in advance of the date of commencement of parental leave and the period of leave to be taken. An employee may commence parental leave prior to providing such notice where through circumstances beyond the control of the employee, the adoption of a child takes place earlier.
Adoption of a Child. An employee who is adopting a child may use up to thirty (30) days of his or her accrued sick leave within the first year of legally adopting the child, less any days previously used for Personal Necessity for the purpose of caring for the needs of the newly adopted child (Ed. Code §88207.5). Whenever possible, the employee shall provide advance notice for use of this leave. When advance notice is not possible, the employee will notify his or her supervisor within twenty-four (24) hours of the commencement of the leave.
Adoption of a Child. 11.2.6 Notwithstanding the foregoing, employees may take up to two (2) days personal necessity leave for urgent personal business and will not have to obtain prior permission or state a reason for the leave. The following are not to be considered proper uses of personal business leave:
Adoption of a Child. In the event of the adoption of a child, a teacher who is the adoptive parent and whose presence is temporarily required for the child’s well-being shall be granted sick leave for such child care. Such leave shall be appropriate to the child’s age and circumstance and may be up to six (6) weeks for a newborn baby. Absences shall be approved by the Superintendent or his/her designated representative. Reasonable advance notice shall be given to the building principal indicating the date and reason for absences. Upon return from sick leave, each employee of the Board shall furnish a satisfactory signed statement indicating that the employee was absent for just cause and shall give the name and address of an attending physician if medical attention was required. Sick Leave follows the provisions of FMLA. VIII-B SICK LEAVE DONATION PROGRAM The intent of the program is to allow members to provide assistance voluntarily to another member who has recently suffered a serious illness or injury. A serious illness or injury is an injury or illness:
