Per Diem Nurse definition

Per Diem Nurse is a nurse who is not regularly scheduled, but is required to be available to the Hospital for at least three (3) scheduled open shifts per month and one (1) recognized holiday per year.

Per Diem Nurse is used in this Agreement it shall mean a Nurse hired to work one of the tiers set forth in the Tiered Per Diem Compensation System, or hired according to a prior Per Diem agreement. Per Diem Nurses are eligible for fringe benefits under this Agreement only to the extent expressly provided for in this Agreement and subject to the Nurse satisfying all of the qualifications therefore.

Per Diem Nurse. A nurse who is not assigned to an FTE but provides coverage on an intermittent or as needed basis. The hospital shall utilize per diem nurses to maintain adequate staffing levels during periods of high patient census, vacations, illness, and accommodating regular nurses’ work schedules. These nurses do not have a regular work schedule but must be available to work per department policy. This may require commitment to work a minimum number and/or type of shifts. Nurses who do not meet departmental availability obligations for a period of three (3) months may be terminated.

  • Medical Review Officer (MRO means a licensed physician, employed with or contracted with the City, responsible for receiving laboratory results generated by the City's drug testing program who has knowledge of substance abuse disorders, laboratory testing procedures, and chain of custody collection procedures; who verifies positive, confirmed test results, and who has the necessary and appropriate medical training to interpret and evaluate an individual's confirmed positive test result together with his or her medical history and any other relevant biomedical information.

  • MEDICAL STAFF LEADER means any Medical Staff Officer, department chair, section chief, and committee chair.

  • Medical Review Officer (MRO) means a licensed physician responsible for receiving and reviewing laboratory results generated by the school district’s drug testing program and for evaluating medical explanations for certain drug tests.

  • Apprentice electrician means an individual other than an electrical contractor, master electrician, or electrical journeyman, who is engaged in learning about and assisting in the installation or alteration of electrical wiring and equipment under the direct personal supervision of an electrical journeyman or master electrician.

  • Medical Specialist means any medical practitioner who is vocationally registered by the Medical Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in one of the approved branches of medicine and who is employed in either that branch of medicine or in a similar capacity with minimal oversight.

  • Certified pharmacy technician or “certified technician” means an individual who holds a valid current national certification and who has registered with the board as a certified pharmacy technician.

  • Esthetician means an individual who engages in the practice of esthetics but no other branch of cosmetology in a licensed facility.
