Promotional probation may be extended at the discretion of the director and after consultation with an employee's appointing authority so an employee who utilizes the limited duty provisions of this section has the opportunity to perform for the established promotional probationary period.
Promotional probation does not apply to lateral transfers or transfers to a lower pay range, whether the transfer is as a result of the employee requesting the transfer, or the city making a transfer when a position is eliminated or as a temporary measure where a complaint is being investigated.
