Thesis Committee definition

Thesis Committee. – means a supervisory committee formally appointed by the Faculty Graduate Studies Committee at the time of approval of Candidacy and associated with a specific candidate as defined in these Rules. It comprises at least three persons including a Chairperson, Supervisor, and one or more Associate Supervisors or a Co-supervisor or a combination of both.
Thesis Committee means a committee of two (2) or more members including a chairperson set-up by the respective Graduate School to supervise a research and/or evaluate a student’s performance;
Thesis Committee. The thesis committee has to support the career of the doctoral candidate and to ensure the quality of the thesis. A thesis committee, which includes the primary supervisor and additional senior scientist[s], should meet twice a year to facilitate the progress of the doctoral project by discussing the methodology, results, and timeline. Thesis Committee. This is an internal and external panel convened for graduate students in general. It consists of at least four members primarily representing Rensselaer NE faculty, but also including at least one representative from across the campus of from other universities or national labs. The function of the group is to provide observations and advice on the overall progress and development of the student. The thesis advisor, in particular, will be engaged in ongoing comprehensive research progress and evaluation exercises for each of the students. RPI NE Fellowship Advisory Panel: An advisory panel established for this Fellowship program will be convened while the proposed Nuclear Fellowship Program is funded. It will provide independent assessment of the potential of the fellowship recipients, and offer advice and guidance as necessary.
