ABSENCES FROM WORK. 17.1 Employees who are unable to report for their normal workday have the responsibility to notify their supervisor of such absence as soon as possible, but in no event later than the beginning of such workday. 17.2 Failure to make such notification may be grounds for discipline as provided in Article 16 (Disciplinary Procedures). 17.3 Failure to report for work without notification for three (3) consecutive normal workdays may be considered a “quit” by the Employer on the part of the employee. 18.1 Effective May 1, 1993, for the purpose of this Article, the following terms shall be defined as follows:
