ABSENTISM IN DAY CARE. For subsidized day care children, each child is allowed up to 35 absent days per calendar year. The parent/guardian is responsible for the assessed fees when the child is absent. If the child is absent for more than 35 days, the parent/guardian is responsible for paying the full cost of care. Statutory holidays will be excluded from the 35 days. Requests for additional days of absence, beyond the 35 allowable days may be approved though the appeal process. Appeals will be considered for exceptional cases only, such as when a child has a documented specific need or serious illness. Consequently, the agency is requiring that you pay a one week’s full fee deposit once your child has been absent 30 days. When you reach the 35 days you will be requested to pay for the absent day up on your return to the day care. The day care has the right to cancel care for your child if you refuse to pay deposit or your daily fee. In order to have smooth routines and transitions, to increase their knowledge and development, and to achieve their goals set by parents and staff, children must attend child care regularly.   • Rate Redetermination after Catastro- phic Damage In event of Catastrophic Damage and ad- justment, if any, of Included Timber, Contracting Officer shall make an appraisal to determine for each species the catastrophe-caused difference between the appraised unit value of Included Timber remaining immediately prior to the catastrophe and the appraised unit value of existing and potential Included Timber immediately after the ca- tastrophe. Included Timber is any that would not be elimi- nated under B8.32. Potential Included Timber is any that would be added under B8.32. Tentative Rates and Flat Rates in effect at the time of catastrophe shall be adjusted by said differences to be- come the redetermined rates for the purpose of a contract modification under B8.32. Accordingly, Base Rates shall be adjusted to correspond to the redetermined rates if redetermined rates are less than the original Base Rates, subject to new Base Rate limitations of 25 cents per hun- dred cubic feet or equivalent. However, existing Base In- dices shall not be changed under this Subsection.
