Common use of ACTING TEMPORARY PAY Clause in Contracts

ACTING TEMPORARY PAY. Any classified employee who has been confirmed to a position by the Civil Service Commission may be temporarily assigned to serve in an acting capacity in a position allocated to a higher pay range than that in which currently employed. If an employee is temporarily assigned the duties of such position for five (5) working days, consecutive or separate, during her/his career with the department, she/he shall for each day thereafter so assigned be termed an "Acting Temporary" employee. Beginning with the sixth (6th) day of such work assignment, the "Acting Temporary" employee shall receive compensation ten percent (10%) greater than regular compensation, not to exceed the maximum of the range for the position assigned. Upon termination of the temporary assignment, the employee shall return to her/his original compensation.
