Category Placement. (a) All teachers hired after August 31, 1998 shall have their qualifications evaluated by OSSTF or QECO. The Employer agrees to accept the category placement of a teacher by either OSSTF or QECO.
(b) The Employer agrees to accept the category placement by OSSTF or QECO but in no case shall the category placement of these teachers be in a lower category than their placement under the previous Category and Evaluation system.
Category Placement. 3.1. A Teacher shall submit all necessary written proof of the change in qualifications to the Executive Superintendent of Employee Services or designate.
(a) It shall be the responsibility of the Teacher to apply for any necessary written proof of a change in qualifications.
(b) The Board shall acknowledge receipt of documents submitted by the Teacher and shall advise the Teacher of the ultimate disposition of the request for change in category placement.
Category Placement. Effective September 1, 2004, all category rating changes will be effected in accordance with QECO program 5. For the purposes of salary categorization, the Board recognizes the Certification Statement issued by QECO as being final.
Category Placement. At the commencement of each school year and until the following July 1, the individual shall be placed in a category relating to their accumulated sick leave.
Category Placement. 1. Except as otherwise provided, the category placement of each teacher shall be in accordance with the teacher's qualifications as most recently determined by the Teacher Qualification Service. Verification is the responsibility of the teacher.
2. The minimum category placement for persons holding Letters of Permission shall be the first step of Category 4. Related experience, if applicable, shall be granted in accordance with the provisions of Experience Recognition, Article B.22 of this agreement.
3. Category 4 (B. Ed. Elementary) Only teachers in Category 4 with a Bachelor of Education (Elementary) degree who received an allowance of $100 in 1978 shall continue to receive said allowance.
Category Placement. 9.01 The salary schedule shall be applied to all Teachers in the bargaining unit.
9.02 Category definitions governing the payment of basic salary are as stated in the Qualifications Evaluation Council of Ontario Programme Five. It is the duty of all Teachers who have requested a change in evaluation to obtain a Statement of the Evaluation from the Qualifications Evaluation Council of Ontario.
9.03 A Teacher, who before the beginning of the school year, has met all the conditions required for a QECO Statement of Evaluation for a higher standing, shall be entitled to an adjustment in salary as of September 1 of that year, providing the Teacher presents a copy of a QECO Acknowledgement of Correspondence (green card) to the Board on or before December 31 of that year acknowledging that he or she has applied for a change in category.
9.04 A Teacher, who before December 31st has met all the conditions required for a QECO Statement of Evaluation for a higher standing, shall be entitled to an adjustment in salary as of January 1 of the next year, provided the Teacher presents a copy of a QECO Acknowledgement of Correspondence (green card) to the Board on or before April 30 of the next year acknowledging that he or she has applied for a change in category.
9.05 Teachers whose work is satisfactory shall be advanced on the salary grid one step until the stated maximum for the category classification has been reached.
9.06 It shall be the prerogative of the Board to withhold the annual increments of a Teacher whose work is deemed to be unsatisfactory according to the Board’s Teacher Performance Appraisal Policy.
Category Placement. 7.01 Effective September 1, 2004, all category rating changes will be effected in accordance with QECO program 5. For the purposes of salary categorization, the Board recognizes the Certification Statement issued by QECO as being final.
7.02 Teachers on staff requesting a category adjustment shall be paid in the new classification, retroactive to September 1st, if the teacher submits documentary evidence to this effect (Statement of Evaluation by QECO or official notice of receipt of documents by QECO) prior to December 15th of that year. All qualifications for the new classification must have been attained before September 1st of that school year. If, through no fault of the teacher, the documentation arrives after December 15, all adjustments in salary shall be paid retroactive to September 1; otherwise, the salary adjustments shall be retroactive only to the beginning of the month in which the documents are received. All adjustments in salary shall be paid retroactive to September 1st upon receipt of the Statement of Evaluation by QECO, where the teacher submitted a completed Anticipated Category Change form to the Board prior to December 15th Teachers hired on January 1st must submit documentary evidence of a category classification by April 1st of that school year. All adjustments in salary shall be paid retroactive to January 1st otherwise, salary adjustments shall be paid retroactive to the beginning of the month in which the documents were received.
7.03 The onus is on the Teacher to provide documentary proof of the following upon entering employment or upon change in status, by specified dates, (above) of the current school year:
(a) Category rating;
(b) Teaching experience; and
(c) Teachers certification.
Category Placement. Effective September 1, 2008, category placement on the salary grid for Long Term Occasional Teachers shall be in accordance with the Qualifications Evaluation Council of Ontario (Q.E.C.O.) Program 3, Program 4 or Program 5.
