Common use of Additional Hours of Work and Overtime Clause in Contracts

Additional Hours of Work and Overtime. The Parties recognize that the University’s operations may require part-time employees to perform additional hours of work and/or for full-time employees to work overtime. To the extent feasible, additional hours of work and/or overtime will be on a voluntary basis. Should sufficient employees not be available to meet these requirements, then the Department Head/designate can assign additional hours of work and/or overtime, recognizing that, in situations of short notice, an employee may be unable to accept the additional hours of work and/or the overtime assignment.
