Air Operations. Wildland fire aviation includes a variety of aircraft and operations. Helicopters are used to drop water, transport crews, reconnaissance, infrared, and deliver resources to the fire line. Fixed-wing aircraft include smokejumper aircraft, air tactical platforms, Single Engine Airtankers (SEATs), large airtankers (LAT), and very large airtankers (VLAT). These aircraft play a critical role in supporting firefighters on the ground.
Air Operations. Personnel regularly assigned to Air Operations shall be provided with: 1) Nomex jacket, 2) helicopter crew boots, 3) and flight gloves.

Optionally, the requested country may adopt the necessary measures to ensure fuel and supplies for their aircraft.
Air Operations. (a) COM 7th Air Component Commander will prescribe TACROE for defensive counterair (DCA), offensive counterair (OCA), air interdiction (AI), and battlefield air interdiction (BAI). Air Operations can also include Unmanned Aerial systems of all sizes and complexities. These aircraft all play a critical role in supporting firefighters on the ground and will adhere to Interagency Aviation Policies in the Fire Traffic Area.
