ARTICLE LVII CLASSIFICATION AND WAGES. 1. Effective 1/1/2023, members of the bargaining unit shall be paid according to the attached scale. However, if the agreement is ratified after 12/31/2022, effective 1/1/2023, as to Act 312 eligible employees covered under this agreement and upon ratification in 2023 and on a non- retroactive basis as to non-Act 312 eligible employees covered under this agreement: The attached scales shall be adjusted to remove the Start Rate of pay for Animal Control Officers, Corrections Officers, and Field Services Deputies and the remaining steps re-numbered as attached. Employees who are presently on the Start step, shall be immediately moved to the new Start Step. All other employees shall stay at their current step as of date of ratification and shall move to the next step on their applicable scale, on their next anniversary date. As an example, a Corrections Officer on the 2 years step (current $52,087), stays on the same step and the wage moves to $53,650 after ratification in 2023, which includes the 3% increase proposed in 2 below. Likewise, a Field Services Deputy on the 4 years step (current $67,327), stays on the same step and the wage moves to $69,347 on 1/1/2023, which includes the 3% increase proposed in 2 below.
