Common use of AUTHORIZED ABSENCE Clause in Contracts

AUTHORIZED ABSENCE. Since the absence of professional employees generally has an adverse affect on the quality of the educational program, imposes increased responsibilities on other members of the professional staff, and increases cost, it is the responsibility of employees to avoid unnecessary tardiness or absence. The provisions herein set forth are not intended to reduce the professional responsibilities of employees nor to provide a form of additional compensation. Rather, they are intended to meet the legitimate humanitarian and professional needs of employees in a manner consistent with the requirements of the educational program and they shall be so applied and interpreted.
