Meritorious Leave. An employee may be granted a leave for a period not to exceed one (1) school year for other meritorious reasons upon request subject to the following mandatory conditions:
Meritorious Leave. Meritorious leave shall be used for general health, adoptions, child care, family emergencies, education, or for meritorious reasons not otherwise provided herein. In determining whether to grant any such leave, the Employer shall consider:
A. The past performance of the teacher.
B. The staffing needs and other requirements of the Employer.
C. The length of service of the teacher and the probability that the teacher will return to the service of the Employer.
D. The purpose of the leave.
Meritorious Leave. The Employer upon the written request of an Employee may grant an unpaid leave for reasons of general health, family emergencies, military service or other reasons deemed meritorious by the Employer. The Employer may require substantiating evidence for granting or renewing a leave.
Meritorious Leave. The Board may grant a leave of absence upon the request of a teacher for reasons of professional development or for other reasons not otherwise herein provided. In determining whether to grant any such leave, the Board shall consider:
1. The past performance of the teacher;
2. The staffing needs and other requirements of the District;
3. The length of service of the teacher and the probability that the teacher will return to the service of the Board; and
4. The purpose or purposes of the leave.
Meritorious Leave. The Employer may grant a leave of absence upon the request of employees for reasons of family emergencies, funerals, or for meritorious reasons not otherwise provided herein. In determining whether to grant any such leave, the Employer shall consider:
A. The past performance of the employee;
B. The staffing needs and other requirements of the College;
C. The length of service of the employee and the probability that the employee will return to the service of the College; and
D. The purpose or purposes of the leave. Leave may be with or without pay and if with pay, shall be charged against current or accumulated sick leave as mutually agreed between the Employer and the employee.
Meritorious Leave. The Employer may grant a leave of absence upon the request of employees for reasons of family emergencies, funerals, or for meritorious reasons not otherwise provided herein. In determining whether to grant any such leave, the Employer shall consider:
A. The past performance of the employee;
B. The staffing needs and other requirements of the College;
C. The length of service of the employee and the probability that the employee will return to the service of the College; and
D. The purpose or purposes of the leave.
E. Meritorious leave may be available when faculty participate in Accreditation site visits provided that: • The request for absence form is completed and the reason for meritorious leave is clearly identified; • Pre-approval by the appropriate Xxxx and the Vice President for Human Resources or in the absence of a xxxx pre-approval by the appropriate Director and Vice President for Human Resources; • There is no other compensation beyond a $250.00 honorarium per diem and/or travel expenses offered. Leave may be with or without pay and if with pay, shall be charged against current or accumulated sick leave as mutually agreed between the Employer and the employee.
Meritorious Leave. The employer may grant a leave of absence on its own motion or upon the request of an employee for meritorious reasons not otherwise herein provided. In determining whether to grant such leave, the employer shall consider:
A. The past performance of the employee;
B. The staff needs of the employer;
C. The length of service of the employee and the probability that the employee will return to the services of the employer;
D. The purpose or purposes of the leave.
Meritorious Leave. Upon approval by the department head and the General Manager or designee, an employee with a minimum of five (5) years of service may be granted a leave of absence for a maximum period of one (1) year for meritorious service with the District, for purposes which will be of mutual benefit to the employee and to the District and which will create no conflict of interest with the purposes of the District. During such leave, all benefits will cease and upon return to active employment with the District, any such employee will retain all benefits accrued as of the date such leave of absence commenced. If such employee does not return to work on or before the day specified for their return as a condition for approval of such leave they will be considered as on a non-approved leave and shall be subject to discharge by the District.
Meritorious Leave. The Superintendent may also grant a leave of absence for other reasons to an employee who sufficiently prior to its desired commencement submits an application setting forth the reason(s) such a leave of absence is desired and/or necessary.
Meritorious Leave. The Employer, on its own motion, or upon written request of an employee may grant a leave for reasons of general health, family emergencies, child care, or other reasons deemed meritorious by the Employer. The Employer may require substantiating evidence for granting or renewing a leave. Such leave shall not extend more than nine (9) months from its inception, and normally not longer than the period necessary to satisfy the reasons for granting the leave. In the case of illness, meritorious leave shall not be granted until accumulated sick days have been exhausted. (Such leave shall not constitute a precedent for future requests and shall not be subject to grievance process.)
