Common use of Bank Membership Clause in Contracts

Bank Membership. Any employee is eligible to become a member of the Sick Leave Bank. An employee may elect to join the Sick Leave Bank by informing the District or the ESSA in writing during the first thirty (30) days of initial employment for newly hired employees, during the first thirty (30) work days after return to work for employees returning from a long term leave of absence, or during the month of May for current employees who are nonmembers. Membership in the Bank shall continue from year to year after initial enrollment unless an employee notifies the District in writing no later than May 31 regarding his/her intent to withdraw from the Sick Leave Bank for the following fiscal year. An employee electing not to join the Sick Leave Bank shall not be eligible for Sick Leave Bank grants until the next annual enrollment, when the employee will again have the opportunity to become a member of the Sick Leave Bank. The Bank shall be administered through the same administrative channels and regulations as for sick leave except as noted in this article.
