Banking Preparation Time. In an effort to assist teachers and principals in identifying what constitutes “banked time”, these guidelines shall be followed: - For teachers to be able to “bank” preparation time, teachers should consult with their principal in advance of logging preparation time that may be missed; - As the Education Statutes and Regulations of Ontario indicate, teachers have a professional obligation to attend certain meetings. These may include, but are not limited to: meetings with parents, IPRCs, IEP review meetings, meetings with administrators as part of the TPA process, etc. In scheduling these meetings, principals shall endeavor to offer teachers several options – before school, after school, at lunch, or during the teacher’s preparation time. - If a teacher chooses to meet during his/her preparation and planning time, it is understood that they are not eligible to bank this time;

The Principal’s initials indicate acknowledgement that the missed time is to be banked.

  • Preparation Time 1. Each full-time elementary teacher shall receive 100 minutes of preparation time per week scheduled in accordance with the Previous Collective Agreement.

  • Elementary Preparation Time The Board shall provide a minimum of 180 minutes per five-day week of preparation time for each elementary teacher.
