Bid Seniority Date. An employee’s Bid Seniority begins on the date the employee is placed on the Company’s payroll for newly hired regular employees. For Company employees transferring into this Agreement, Bid Seniority is the date an employee is notified that the employee is awarded an open vacancy. A common seniority date will be assigned when multiple positions are filled at the same time for the same vacancy. For employees in Lead positions prior to May 1, 2023, an employee will both: (a) retain and continue to accrue Bid Seniority in the employee’s basic classification; and (b) accrue Bid Seniority in the work status of the Lead position at the Location/Point beginning the day after the Lead vacancy posting closes. Employees awarded Lead positions effective on or after May 1, 2023 will use their basic bid seniority for placement on the Lead seniority list but will remain junior to Leads awarded prior to May 1, 2023. Employees will stop accruing Bid Seniority and their date will be adjusted for periods of promoted status that exceed 183 days, and for periods on educational and personal leaves of absence that exceed 90 days. Bid Seniority is used for all types of bidding contained in this Agreement except for vacations.

A common seniority date will be assigned when multiple CLP positions are filled at the same time for the same vacancy. Employees will stop accruing Bid Seniority and their date will be adjusted for periods of promoted status beyond 183 days, and educational and personal leaves of absence that exceed 90 days. Bid Seniority is used for all types of bidding contained in this Agreement except for vacations.

Bid Seniority is used for furlough recall and all types of bidding contained in this Agreement except for vacations.

Related to Bid Seniority Date

  • Seniority Date Employees shall acquire seniority upon completion of the probationary period as defined in Article XIII and upon acquiring seniority, the seniority date shall relate back to the first date of continuous service in the bargaining unit. If more than one employee commences work on the same date, lot shall determine seniority ranking for such employees. A District-Wide seniority list will be provided for the exclusive representative no later than November 1 of each year.

  • Seniority Dates Upon request, the Employer agrees to make available to the Union the seniority dates of any employees covered by this Agreement. Such seniority dates shall be subject to correction for error on proper representation by the Union.

  • Seniority Roster The District shall maintain an updated seniority roster, indicating employee's class seniority and hire date seniority. Such rosters shall be available to CSEA.

  • Seniority Rosters The Employer agrees to furnish the Union each January 31 and July 31 with rosters of all employees who accrue seniority, their current and prior classifications, and start date in each classification and University start date per Section 1. Employees who have accepted positions outside the bargaining unit do not accrue class seniority in the bargaining unit when employed in positions outside the bargaining unit, but retain prior seniority earned in the bargaining unit. When two (2) or more employees have the same classification seniority date, ties shall be broken by recognizing the employee with the greater University seniority first. If a tie still continues, the employee's seniority position shall be determined by lot.

  • Seniority Accrual All paid leaves shall be treated as continuous employment for the purposes of seniority accrual. Unpaid leaves shall be treated as continuous employment for the purposes of seniority accrual for the duration of the leave, except for movement up the salary increment scale.

  • Classification Seniority Classification Seniority" is defined as the length of service in a specific job classification within the bargaining unit, beginning with the date an employee starts to serve a probationary appointment. Classification Seniority shall be interrupted only by separation because of resignation, discharge for just cause, failure to return upon expiration of a leave of absence, failure to respond to a recall from layoff, or retirement.
