Common use of Broken Shift Clause in Contracts

Broken Shift. (i) A broken shift is any shift that does not continue for five (5) consecutive working days Monday to Friday. (ii) All hours worked on broken shifts shall be paid at the rate of time and a half for the first two hours and double time thereafter, except where the reasons for a broken shift eventuating are as a result of Employee actions or reasons. (iii) The observance of a holiday or RDO in any week shall not be regarded as a break in continuity for the purpose of this subclause.
