Common use of Carry Forward of Vacation Clause in Contracts

Carry Forward of Vacation. (a) Subject to 13.01(a) an employee may carry forward to another year any proportion of vacation leave not taken by him/her in previous year to a maximum of one (1) year’s entitlement. (b) An employee who has exceeded the carry forward limit in 13.07 (a) will be notified in writing three (3) months in advance of the end of the vacation year, outlining the balance in excess of the carry forward limit. Only those employees who are prohibited from utilizing the excess balance due to requirements of the Employer will be permitted to carry forward the excess balance.
