  • Seniority Defined Seniority is defined as the total length of service in the bargaining unit as an employee, regardless of occupational change. Seniority shall be used as one of the factors in determining preference or priority for promotion, transfers, demotions, terminations and layoff caused by force reductions and recall. Seniority shall operate on a bargaining unit wide basis.

  • Statutory Definitions Statutory terms defined in the Code and as set forth in applicable law shall have the same meaning in this Contract.

  • Grievance Definition A grievance is an allegation by an employee or a group of employees that there has been a violation, misapplication, or misinterpretation of this Agreement, which occurred during the term of this Agreement. The term “grievant” as used in this Article includes the term “grievants.”

  • DPA Definitions The definition of terms used in this DPA is found in Exhibit “C”. In the event of a conflict, definitions used in this DPA shall prevail over terms used in any other writing, including, but not limited to the Service Agreement, Terms of Service, Privacy Policies etc.

  • FTE Definition Effective September 1, 2017, part-time teacher FTE will be determined by the ratio of the teacher’s actual annual instructional time to the teacher instructional time of a full-time assignment in the teacher’s school. This FTE will be used to calculate the prorated portion of a teacher’s assignable time.

  • Seniority Date Employees shall acquire seniority upon completion of the probationary period as defined in this Agreement and, upon acquiring seniority, the seniority date shall relate back to the first date of continuous service in a position governed by this Agreement. If more than one employee commences work on the same date, seniority ranking for such employees shall be determined by the School District.
