CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS FOR STAFF NURSES. 150. Under special authority from the Civil Service Commission and subject to its approval, the City shall conduct civil service examinations and establish lists of eligibles for all Registered Nurse classifications in a timely manner. The City will make every reasonable effort to assure that employees in Registered Nurse classifications are certified permanent within ninety (90) days of the first day of employment. 151. In order to reduce the number of provisional employees in all Staff Nurse classifications, the Union agrees, pursuant to CSC Rule 113 that the City may adopt the most expansive certification rule allowed under the Civil Service Commission rules. This agreement shall be subject to cancellation by the Union on July 1 or January 1, with six (6) months notice to the City. Prior to canceling this program, the Union shall notify and meet with the City in an effort to resolve any concerns about the program. This section covers matters within the jurisdiction of the Civil Service Commission, as set forth in Charter Section 10.100 et seq., and is not subject to any grievance arbitration or impasse resolution procedures.

  • Medical Appointment for Pregnant Employees 35.9.1 Up to three decimal seven five (3.75) hours of reasonable time off with pay for each appointment will be granted to pregnant employees for the purpose of attending routine medical appointments.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.

  • Medical Exams 18.1: The Sheriff's Department may require a physical and/or psychological exam by a doctor, at the Employer's expense, to determine the employee's ability to perform his/her regular duties, if deemed appropriate. The employee may obtain a second opinion, at the employee's expense, and in the event there is a dispute between the Employer's doctor and the employee's doctor, both of these doctors shall select a third doctor, whose decision shall be final and binding on the parties. The expense for the third doctor's opinion shall be split 50-50 by the Employer and the employee if not covered by the employee's insurance.
