Class Size Policy/Committee. If the Board determines during the life of this agreement that the current class size policy needs to be reconsidered and revised, the class size committee will meet to prepare recommendations. The District and Association agree to the formation of a class size committee, with three (3) members selected by the District, three (3) members selected by the Association, and three (3) community members, each acceptable to the Board and the Association. The committee will develop a recommendation on class size policy and procedures for dealing with class size concerns. The committee will study class size standards, District operating procedures regarding class size, the number of student contacts per day; District past practices regarding class size, District financial resources, and the needs of special students and the workloads of the specialists. Further, the committee may identify areas recommended to be targeted for future improvement. The committee shall meet regularly, distribute comprehensive minutes of each meeting, and submit a final report to the District and Association. The committee will actively solicit the involvement of local citizen groups, parent groups, staff and the public. The class size policy adopted by the School Board will be adhered to by the District. However, the School Board may determine that the class size policy cannot be complied within a particular situation because of educational needs beyond the control of the School Board, such as lack of sufficient appropriate facilities, or inadequate resources. Enforcement of the class size policy adopted by the Board will be by the same procedures as apply generally to Board policies. A quarterly report on class size shall be provided to the Board and to the Association president.

  • Study Committee The parties shall utilize the Benefits Advisory Committee, with equal membership by the State and the VSEA, for the purpose of reviewing all issues related to health care and prescription drugs, and recommending changes to the bargaining committees. The parties shall also establish a special study committee to evaluate the current health plans, and make recommendations to the bargaining committees of the State and employees for sustainable savings in the health care plans.

  • Special Education Committee The parties agree to establish a committee comprised of representatives from ETFO, the Ministry of Education and school board leadership in the area of special education. Additional representatives may be invited as resources to the committee as needed. The committee will discuss current issues as identified by the parties related to supporting students with special education needs. The committee shall meet regularly commencing no later than November 30, 2015 and recommendations will be made to the Minister of Education by April 30, 2016. Terms of reference will be jointly developed to inform the scope of discussions and recommendations.   • SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES 1. If the majority of the teaching staff in the school so decide, there shall be established a recognized staff committee in that school.

  • Training Committee The parties to this Agreement may form a Training Committee. The Training Committee will be constituted by equal numbers of Employer nominees and ETU employee representatives and have a charter which clearly states its role and responsibilities. It shall monitor the clauses of this Agreement which relate to training and ensure all employees have equal access to training.

  • Education Committee (a) The Employer will establish an Education Committee for all employees in the facility, which shall include at least one representative from ONA members.

  • Local Safety Committee There shall be established in each department and/or principal place of employment (for example: institutions, hospitals, colleges, transportation department areas, Department of Natural Resources regions, etc.) a joint Safety Committee composed of Appointing Authority representatives selected by the Appointing Authority and employee representatives selected by the Union, one from each bargaining unit represented by the Union but at a minimum, a total of two (2) representatives. If more than one (1) exclusive representative exists in the department or principal place of employment, the Union will attempt to work out an arrangement with the other exclusive bargaining representative(s) to insure their input to the Committee. The chair of the Committee shall be appointed by the Appointing Authority. The Appointing Authority may consider having co-chairs, one management and one labor. The Safety Committee shall meet at least quarterly or as may be legally required and meetings shall be scheduled by the Safety Officer. Additional meetings may be called by the Safety Officer or by the Local Union or Appointing Authority as the need may arise. All Safety Committee meetings shall be held during normal day shift working hours on the Appointing Authority's premises and without loss of pay. The function of the Safety Committee will be to review reports of property damage and personal injury accidents and alleged hazardous working conditions, to provide support for a strong safety program, to review building security issues, and to review and recommend safety policies to the Appointing Authority. Normally, the Committee shall acknowledge in writing receipt of reports of alleged hazardous working conditions within thirty (30) calendar days of their submission. A copy of the Committee's recommendations, if any, to the Appointing Authority regarding the disposition of such reports shall also be provided to the individual who filed the report with the Committee. In addition, the Safety Committee will provide the filing party with a copy of the Appointing Authority's response and/or proposed actions, if any. At the request of the Local Union or Safety Committee, hazard assessments will be made available for review. Each Local Safety Committee in a facility with a laundry and/or a kitchen shall perform a routine heat survey to check temperature, humidity, and exhaust and fan systems in the laundries and kitchens. The Employer agrees to coordinate technical assistance to the Local Safety Committee upon request.

  • Safety Committee 62.1 Where a Health and Safety Committee is established on a job in accordance with section 72 of the OHS Act, it shall include the Employer’s Site Safety Supervisor and the Health and Safety Representative/s.
