Cleaning Precautions. During grease cleaning operations, satisfactory precautions shall be taken in the use of cleaning equipment. When hydraulically propelled cleaning tools (which depend on water pressure to provide their force) or tools which retard the flow in the grease traps/interceptors or drains are used, precautions shall be taken to ensure that the water pressure created does not damage or cause flooding of the property being served by the grease trap. Care shall be exercised to avoid pipe damage. The Contractor shall be responsible for all damages to the pipe resulting from negligence or the improper use of equipment.

Cleaning Precautions. During sewer cleaning operations, satisfactory precautions shall be taken in the use of cleaning equipment. When hydraulically propelled cleaning tools (which depend upon water pressure to provide their cleaning force) or tools which retard the flow in the sewer line are used, precautions shall be taken to ensure that the water 2016 Sewer CCTV & Cleaning 02250 - 1 pressure created does not damage or cause flooding of public or private property being served by the sewer. C. Sewer Cleaning: The designated sewer manhole sections shall be cleaned using hydraulically propelled, high-velocity jet equipment. Selection of the equipment used shall be based on the conditions of lines at the time the work commences. The equipment and methods selected shall be satisfactory to the Owner's Representative. The equipment shall be capable of removing dirt, grease, rocks, sand, and other materials and obstructions from the sewer lines and manholes. If cleaning of an entire section cannot be successfully performed from one manhole, the equipment shall be set up on the other manhole and cleaning again attempted. If, again, successful cleaning cannot be performed or the equipment fails to traverse the entire manhole section, it will be assumed that a major blockage exists and the cleaning effort shall be abandoned. Contractor shall document the existence and location of such blockages.
Cleaning Precautions. A. During all cleaning and preparation operations, the Contractor shall protect the sanitary sewer lines and manholes from damage. During these operations, the Contractor shall also insure no damage is caused to public or private property adjacent t or served by the sanitary sewer or its branches. The Contractor shall restore any damage caused to public and/ or private property as a result of such cleaning and preparation operations to pre- existing conditions at no additional cost to the Service Authority. Pipe collapses resulting from cleaning operations shall be reported to the Service Authority immediately. The Service Authority, or a contractor selected by the Service Authority shall repair such damage at the Contractors expense. When hydraulically propelled cleaning tools are used, retarding the flow in the sewer line, the Contractor shall insure the water pressure created does not damage or cause flooding of public or private property being serviced by the sewer. B. When flow in a sewer line is plugged, blocked, or bypassed by the Contractor, the Contractor shall take precautions to protect the public health and to protect the sanitary sewer lines from damage resulting from sewer surcharging. Further, the Contractor shall take precautions to ensure sewer flow control operations do not cause flooding or damage to public or private property being served by the sewers involved and shall be responsible for any damage resulting from the flow control operations. C. When flow in a sewer line is plugged or blocked by the Contractor, the Contractor shall monitor the conditions upstream of the plug and shall be prepared to immediately start bypass pumping, if needed. Any liquid or solid matter that is bypass pumped from the sewer collection system shall be discharged to another sewer manhole or appropriate watertight vehicle or container only. No such liquid or solid matter shall be allowed to be discharged, stored, or deposited on the ground, swale, road, storm water drainage system, or open environment. The Contractor shall protect all pumps, conduit, and other equipment used for bypass from traffic. D. Should any liquid or solid matter from the sewer collection system be spilled, discharged, leaked or otherwise deposited to the open environment as a result of the Contractor’s flow control operations, the Contractor shall immediately clean and disinfect the affected area, notify the Authority's operating personnel and appropriate regulatory agencies, and pe...

  • Safety Precautions Resident acknowledges that neither Owner nor any of its agents, employees or representatives has made any representations or warranties, either written or oral, concerning the safety of the Property, the bedroom space or any apartment, or the effectiveness or operability of any security devices or safety, health or security measures at the Property, the bedroom space or any apartment. Resident acknowledges that Owner neither warrants nor guarantees the safety or security of residents or their Guests against any criminal or wrongful acts of third parties. Resident and his or her Guests are responsible for protecting their own respective person and property and hereby release Owner and its agents, employees and representatives for any and all damage to person and property. Owner’s safety measures are neither a warranty of safety nor a guaranty against crime or of a reduced risk of crime. Resident acknowledges that security devices or measures may be changed or removed by Owner without notice or compensation, and/or may fail or be thwarted by criminals or by electrical or mechanical malfunctions. Therefore, Resident acknowledges that he or she should not rely on such devices or measures and should take steps to protect himself or herself and his or her existing property notwithstanding these devices. Resident agrees to immediately notify Owner’s representative of any malfunctions involving locks and life-safety building components. Should Resident become seriously injured or imperiled at the Property, Resident authorizes Owner and its agents to call 911 Emergency at Resident’s expense, without legal obligation to do so.

  • Substitute Precautions Forest Service may authorize substitute measures or equipment, or waive specific requirements by written notice, if substitute measures or equipment will afford equal protection or some of the required measures and equipment are un- necessary.
