Compensation Payment to Host Community. Compensation payment is a feature of some host community agreements that provide some kind of direct payment to offset the intangible effects of the waste management facility. Compensation payment can include the following: • Payments to the host community’s local and regional governments. • Payments to individual residents or businesses in close proximity to the proposed facility. • Payments to the host community’s public liaison committee. • Tax breaks for the host community. • Extra support of local community services such as fire, ambulance, schools and recreational facilities. • Free waste disposal. • Offering jobs at the waste management facility to local residents. • The sponsorship of local recreational sports teams and programs. • Payment of the host community’s costs for monitoring the facility. Table 1 shows examples of some royalty payments to host communities and their governments.   • Special Compensation The Company shall pay to the Executive a lump sum equal to three times the sum of (a) the highest per annum base rate of salary in effect with respect to the Executive during the three-year period immediately prior to the termination of employment plus (b) the Highest Bonus Amount. Such lump sum shall be paid by the Company to the Executive within ten business days after the Executive's termination of employment, unless the provisions of Section 3(e) below apply.
