Country/Region Selection. The Institute has developed a three-tiered approach to country/ region focus and prioritization which will provide a systematic way of assessing where the Institute can and should engage. Country/region prioritization will be reviewed on an annual basis by the Advisory Council and Executive Board so that the Institute can be responsive to emerging opportunities. This model offers flexibility in re-ranking countries as the Institute develops contacts through current and future strategic partners over time. 4.4.1 TIER A: High potential to develop programs across two or more of the Institute activities. a) Significant presence of Canadian capital investment in the extractive sector in a CIDA country of focus or other significant bilateral relationship. b) Long-standing history of collaboration with key partners; existing high-level relationships with national and regional government, NGO, academic, community, or industry working in extractive sector development. c) Cohort of activities already underway in extractive sector development: academic, NGO, CIDA, IDRC, etc., that are anchored in the government’s development strategy of the developing nation. d) Strategic priority areas and objectives in extractive sector development have been identified by developing country stakeholders. e) Approach of government to resource governance is consistent with Institute’s values. f) Importance of mining and/or oil and gas to country. g) Opportunity for: high-level, long-term engagement; influence environmental sustainability; and/or engagement with local academic partners. h) Programming can be sufficiently targeted to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Relative absence of existing capacity building initiatives funded by other institutions for which the Institute’s activities would be duplicative. i) High income inequality and poverty; high gender inequity. j) Ability to leverage funding or in-kind support. 4.4.2 TIER B: Good potential to engage across some of the Institute activities. a) Institute members and partners have developed a range of relationships with national and regional government, NGO, academic, community, or industry. b) Range of relationships is comprehensive enough that implementation of the Institute’s activities could be efficient and effective. c) Needs analyses/identification of priority areas by developing country stakeholders in process or anticipated. d) Approach of government to resource governance is consistent with Institute’s values. e) Pr...

  • Shift Selection Employee assignments within the Patrol Bureau will occur between approximately April 1-15 and shall be awarded based upon seniority. Approximately three (3) months before then the Department will publish a call for written requests on shift assignment. Employees will make their first three (3) choices known. Employees will learn of the assignment, including days off associated with their assignment, immediately after the bidding process is completed. Assignments will take effect on the schedule immediately following July 1st. Residence Hall assignments will be made prior to all others. No officer will be required to work a Residence Hall assignment in consecutive years. Assignment of the remaining officers will begin with selection(s) for day and night shifts. The bid for assignments will continue until all positions are filled. The following general rules apply to assignments: 1. During the term of this Agreement, no employee will be reassigned to a different shift other than the shift awarded by seniority except in situations where the University cannot continue to provide police services. In the event a shift reassignment must occur, it will be offered to volunteers based on seniority. If there are no volunteers it will be assigned to the least senior officer in the department. 2. Shift selection shall be an appropriate subject for the Joint Labor/Management Committee. 3. If a shift becomes available as a result of trainees being released for duty, and if there is at least four (4) months until the next shift change, the shift will be posted and awarded by seniority. The new trainee released for duty will take the senior officers shift. If no employee desires the shift, the trainee scheduled for assignment will be assigned that shift. The parties recognize that for the betterment of the Department it may be necessary to assign a trainee to a specific shift. 4. Voluntary shift trades will be allowed as long as overtime costs are not incurred. 5. Except in a bona fide emergency, no employee shall be assigned to work more than sixteen (16) hours in a twenty-four (24) hour period, provided however employees may volunteer to work up to eighteen (18) hours in a twenty-four (24) hour period.

If, in any country, any COMPONENT is not sold separately, NET SALES for royalty determination shall be determined by the formula [C / (C+D)], where C is the aggregate average fully absorbed cost of the Licensed Product components during the prior Royalty Period and D is the aggregate average fully absorbed cost of the other essential functional components during the prior Royalty Period, with such costs being determined in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. To the extent that any SUBLICENSE INCOME relates to a COMBINATION PRODUCT or is otherwise calculated based on the value of one or more licenses or intellectual property rights held by the COMPANY, an AFFILIATE or SUBLICENSEE, COMPANY shall determine in good faith and report to THE PARTIES the share of such payments reasonably attributable to COMPANY’s or such AFFILIATE’s sublicense of the rights granted hereunder, based upon their relative importance and proprietary protection, which portion shall be the SUBLICENSE INCOME. THE PARTIES shall have the right to dispute such sharing determination in accordance with the dispute provisions of the AGREEMENT.

  • Vacation Selection Employees who have not selected their vacation periods by November 15th shall not be entitled later to select vacation periods by seniority.
