Culturally Relevant Services. The Contractor shall provide appropriate, accessible, and culturally relevant services to clients and their families. Service delivery shall be culturally competent and responsive to each client’s cultural beliefs and values, ethnic norms, language needs, and individual differences. Contractors are encouraged to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the diversity of their clientele and the community. The Contractor shall have a written recruitment policy which demonstrates that the Contractor is an equal opportunity employer.

Coverage under this plan includes routine patient costs for covered healthcare services furnished in connection with participation in a clinical trial. Coverage for clinical trials does not include: • the investigational item, device, or service itself; • items or services provided solely to satisfy data collection and that are not used in the direct clinical management; or • a service that is clearly inconsistent with widely accepted standards of care.

Rehabilitation Facility This plan covers rehabilitation services received in a general hospital or specialty hospital.   • Surgery Services and Mastectomy Related Treatment This plan provides benefits for mastectomy surgery and mastectomy-related services in accordance with the Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 and Rhode Island General Law 27-20-29 et seq. For the member receiving mastectomy-related benefits, coverage will be provided in a manner determined in consultation with the attending physician, physician assistant, or an advance practice registered nurse and the patient, for: • all stages of reconstruction of the breast on which the mastectomy was performed; • surgery and reconstruction of the other breast to produce a symmetrical appearance; • prostheses; and • treatment of physical complications at all stages of the mastectomy, including lymphedema.
