Deemed New Employee. A retired teacher who is employed/re-employed who has cashed in his/her sick leave at the time of retirement shall be deemed a new employee for purposes of accumulating sick leave and for all purposes where benefits or conditions are based on continuous service or seniority; provided, however, a retired teacher who is employed on successive one (1) year contracts shall be deemed continuously employed (e.g. no break in service from the date of such employment/re- employment following retirement).

  • New Employee (a) (i) Unless the Parties agree, in writing, to an extension of the probationary period, all Employees who work greater than twenty-four (24) hours per week shall be considered probationary for a period of up to three (3) calendar months following date of appointment to the University.

  • Term Employee Term employee means a new person employed without seniority for a specific time period or until the completion of a particular project in compliance with funding provided for that position or project. (3) The following reasons are not genuine reasons for the purpose of subsection (2)(a): (a) To exclude or limit the rights of the employee under the Employment Relations Act 2000; (b) To establish the suitability of the employee for permanent employment.
