DEFINITION OF STUDENT EMPLOYEE(S. Student employees may be hired into existing classifications at any time throughout the year. However, Bargaining Unit employees shall not suffer a reduction of hours as a result of hiring student employees. Vacancies will be posted. The posting may be for multiple openings of classifications. Subsequent vacancies resulting from students leaving during their term of employment will be filled from the initial competition. vacancies, are exempt from posting requirements. positions not exceed eight consecutive months unless otherwise agreed by the Employer and Union. DEFINITION OF EMPLOYMENT STATUS “Employment Status” refers to an employee’s status as a permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, casual or student employee. ABBREVIATIONS The following abbreviations in this collective agreement are defined as: Permanent Full-Time Employee Permanent Part-Time Employee Temporary Full-Time Employee Temporary Part-Time Employee C Casual Employee Student Employee Where any article in this agreement is marked with one or more of the above abbreviations, the article applies only to that status employees so indicated. Where the article is not marked by any abbreviation, it is intended to be applicable to all employees of the bargaining unit.

  • Definition of Employees A. Full-time employee is defined as a person employed in a position that is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

  • DEFINITION OF EMPLOYEE STATUS 8.01 The status of all employees covered by this agreement shall be defined under one of the following three definitions.

  • Student Employees A student employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work which is not ongoing. He/she is normally in the process of completing his/her post-graduate studies and is expected to return to his/her studies after an agreed employment period. The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).

  • Definition of Seniority Seniority shall be defined as the length of an employee's continuous service with the Employer, commencing with his/her last date of full-time hire. The application of seniority shall be limited to the preferences specifically recited in this Agreement.

  • Refresh Provision for Permanent Employees Permanent Employees returning from LTD or workplace insurance leave to resume their regular working hours must complete eleven (11) consecutive working days at their regular working hours to receive a new allocation of sick/short-term disability leave. If the Employee has a recurrence of the same illness or injury, s/he is required to apply to reopen the previous LTD or WSIB claim, as applicable. The Local union and Local school board agree to continue to cooperate in the implementation and administration of early intervention and safe return to work processes as a component of the Short-Term Leave and Long-Term Disability Plans. In the event the Employee exhausts his/her sick/short-term disability leave allocation from the previous year and continues to work part-time, their salary will be reduced accordingly and a pro-rated sick/short-term allocation for the employee’s working portion of the current year will be provided. The new pro-rated sick/short-term leave allocation may not be used to top-up from part-time to full-time hours. Any changes to hours of work during a fiscal year shall result in an adjustment to the allocation.

  • Definition of Employee 5.01 In this Agreement "employee" means a person who is employed by the Company and who is included in a unit of the Company's employees for whom the Union has been certified as the collective bargaining agent by the Labour Relations Code of B.C. "

  • Definition of Grievance A grievance shall be defined as any difference arising out of the interpretation, application, administration, or alleged violation of the Collective Agreement.
