Department of Public Social Services. (DPSS) - County of Los Angeles, Department of Public Social Services. DPSS serves an ethnically and culturally diverse community through programs designed to both alleviate hardship and promote health, personal responsibility, and economic independence. The Department provides the following benefits and services to low-income residents of Los Angeles County:  Temporary financial assistance and employment services for families and individuals.  Free and low-cost health care insurance for families with children, pregnant women and aged/blind/disabled adults;  Food benefits for families and individuals;  In-home services for elderly and disabled individuals; and  Financial assistance and advocacy for federal disability benefits for disabled individuals. These services are provided locally throughout the many communities that comprise Los Angeles County.
Department of Public Social Services. Any Social Services Practitioner, Social Services Supervisor or Social Services Assistant employed by the Department of Public Social Services who is placed by the department head or designee specifically on standby duty, while otherwise off duty, shall be paid one (1) hour at the base rate of pay for four (4) hours of such duty beyond their regular work hoursperiod in addition to the regular salary. Notwithstanding the exception for the standby duty rate under this provision, all other provisions for general standby duty above shall apply.

  • Department of Health and Human Services An employee notified of a positive controlled substance or alcohol test result may request an independent test of their split sample at the employee’s expense. If the test result is negative, the Employer will reimburse the employee for the cost of the split sample test. An employee who has a positive alcohol test and/or a positive controlled substance test may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, based on the incident that prompted the testing, including a violation of the drug and alcohol free work place rules.

  • Social Services For Applicants residing in a state NB is licensed, NB will conduct the home study and post-placement services. If the Applicant resides outside of NB's service area, NB, in cooperation with the Applicant, will select a Local Home Study Agency to conduct direct social services. The Applicant understands and consents to the professional exchange of their information between NB and the local home study agency.

  • Special Service networks The following services must be received from special service network providers in order to be covered. All terms and conditions outlined in the Summary of Benefits apply.

  • COUNTY’S QUALITY ASSURANCE PLAN The County or its agent will evaluate the Contractor’s performance under this Contract on not less than an annual basis. Such evaluation will include assessing the Contractor’s compliance with all Contract terms and conditions and performance standards. Contractor deficiencies which the County determines are severe or continuing and that may place performance of the Contract in jeopardy if not corrected will be reported to the Board of Supervisors. The report will include improvement/corrective action measures taken by the County and the Contractor. If improvement does not occur consistent with the corrective action measures, the County may terminate this Contract or impose other penalties as specified in this Contract.

Employees shall be compensated for a minimum of one (1) hour of such work regardless of the length of the climbing assignment.
