Design of Equipment. 23.1 The Contractor submits particulars of the design of an item of Equipment to the Service Manager for acceptance if the Service Manager instructs him to. A reason for not accepting is that the design of the item will not allow the Contractor to Provide the Service in accordance with • the Service Information, • the Accepted Plan or • the applicable law. NOTE: for maintenance purposes we are only replacing equipment on “One to One” basis, any equipment that is not exactly the same will not be accepted, and hence the design parameters will be required to be approved by the Employers’ Engineering department.
Design of Equipment. On some complex projects requiring sophisticated temporary works, it could be in the Parties best interests that some details of the Contractor‟s design or proposed design of Equipment are shared with the Project Manager, not necessarily for his acceptance but as an assurance that the Equipment will be able to allow the Contractor to Provides the Works efficiently and without delay. For example a tunnel boring machine, or specialised shuttering for a bridge or caisson. Draft in such a way that there is no doubt that the liability for such design and use of the Equipment remains with the Contractor. Clause 23.1 is always available to the Project Manager if this section is not used.
Design of Equipment. As per Clause 23.1 of the NEC ECC Contract, April 2013. Each airport differs in its design and traffic characteristics. The screening method applied should be a system that suits local conditions. Specific consideration must be made for both daily bag volumes and the highest 15-minute peak during each day. The Vendor-Partner is expected to propose a project plan with timelines for the execution of the project as part of the tender returnable. This will be a framework plan. Upon receipt of the notice of award, the Vendor-Partner will be required to provide a level 3 activity schedule that corresponds to the time stipulated in the tender returnable. The project plan should ensure that 75% of the current processing capacity is always available for the peak operating hours of the airport during construction phase with respect to the site readiness and other aspects. The liability for temporary works to ensure baggage throughput rests with the Vendor-Partner. The Vendor-Partner must obtain written permission from the Engineer before construction of any temporary works may commence. Temporary works will include the following:

Design of Equipment. The Contractor designs and manufactures all jigs and fixtures necessary to construct, transport and install the new exhaust stacks, as well as all jigs and fixtures necessary to remove and dispose of the old stacks.
