Common use of District Seniority Clause in Contracts

District Seniority. Effective upon the date of ratification of this contract, all employees will have seniority based on the date the employee is actively at work and on the payroll as a certified employee in any of the bargaining units covered under this agreement. Employees who are on unpaid leaves of absence of more than ninety (90) working days shall have their seniority date adjusted to reflect the days they were not on active duty. Where seniority is a required factor in the transfer, hiring, excessing or layoff of employees, District seniority, rather than classification seniority, will be used. Classification seniority will be used to break a tie in District seniority
