Donation towards Sick Leave. Employees may donate up to forty (40) hours of their accumulated vacation, holiday or compensatory time per year to a donated leave bank administered by the City for use by other employees who have exhausted their sick leave and other paid leave accounts due to illness, injury or other medical conditions. Donating time shall not be used to extend employment. To be eligible to apply for donated leave, an employee must have a serious illness or medical condition or be caring for a family member with a serious illness or medical condition that requires a prolonged absence from work; and must not be receiving or eligible to receive long term disability benefits. Applications for donated leave must be made to the City, in writing, and must describe the serious illness or medical condition necessitating the leave. All applications for donated leave must be approved by the City in advance. The donating person’s time to a bank will be converted to money based on the donator’s hourly rate. When a request is made to the City for a donation, and approved by the City, the money is paid out at the receiving employee’s current rate of pay.

  • Sick Leave Donation In accord with state law and Medical Center policy, RN’s may donate sick leave to any employee entitled to receive such donations.

  • Donation of Sick Leave The District shall allow unit members to donate sick leave to individual employees who have suffered long-term disabilities or illnesses. Donating unit members shall retain a thirty (30) day balance of sick leave after their donation and may donate no more than twenty-five (25) days of sick leave per year. The donation form is Appendix I. Part-time faculty may receive sick leave donations from any employee, and may donate accumulated sick leave to other part-time faculty following the same requirements as outlined above. Part-time faculty may not donate sick leave to full- time employees.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Sick Leave Donation Program A Labor Management Committee will be established for the purpose of proposing rules and procedures for a new, program. The LMC will be to develop consistent, transparent and equitable proposals for processes across all departments within the City. The LMC shall also explore proposals to lower the minimum leave bank required to donate sick leave and permit donation of sick leave upon separation from the City. The LMC must consult with the Office of Civil Rights to ensure compliance with the City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. Once the LMC has developed its list of proposals, the City and Coalition of City Unions agrees to reopen each contract on this subject.

  • Deductions from Sick Leave A deduction shall be made from accumulated sick leave of all normal working days (exclusive of holidays) absent for sick leave.

  • Sick Leave Donations Employees in the Unit as well as officers above the rank of sergeant and other non-bargaining unit employees in the Police Department may donate sick leave for the purpose of providing authorized sick leave to any Unit member who has exhausted all accrued annual, compensatory and sick leave. Sick leave means leave earned under Section A. of this Article. The procedures governing donation of sick leave followed in implementing the Sick Leave Donor Program established by the predecessor Agreement between the parties shall remain in effect, except as provided in Section P of this Article. Where the FOP has an established leave donation agreement with another bargaining unit within Xxxxxxxxxx County, the employer agrees to honor the agreement pursuant to the applicable contractual requirements of the bargaining unit and transfer sick leave as requested.   • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:
