Early Learning and Childcare. The College enrolled 25 full time students and 6 part-time students to the HNC in Childhood Practice in 2018/19. The College BDU provides a wide range of SVQs relevant to the Early Learning and Childhood sector. It will develop its plans for growth, with the aim of creating sufficient interest and an appropriately qualified workforce to undertake the higher level SSSC accredited programmes. During 2018/19, the College planned new course provision, a pre-MA course, to start in January 2019. Developed in partnership with the Scottish Borders Childcare Partnership this involves current employed staff completing an 18-week award at SCQF Level 4 as preparation for the MA. The College is also planning to deliver the PDA Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 8 for a group of staff currently employed in the Early Years sector. As a longer-term aspiration to address gender imbalance, the College plans to deliver a Career into Care event at a local Primary School and will work with the Regional DYW Industry Group to organise an awareness-raising event for secondary school pupils. We will continue to develop pipeline provision through the Schools Academy Skills for Work courses, Prepare to Care with Community Learning Development and Job Centre Plus.

This is likely to be the only SSSC Accredited programme that will attract sufficient numbers to be viable in the Borders Region in the near future. The Business Development Unit of the College provide a wide range of SVQs relevant to the Early Learning and Childhood sector. During the period of this outcome agreement it will develop its plans for growth, with the aim of creating sufficient interest and an appropriately qualified workforce to undertake the higher level SSSC accredited programmes. Our plans for growth include: Marketing & Recruitment 1. We are producing targeted marketing material for the local market based on developments by Scottish Government. 2. Participating in DYW Early Years roadshow and inviting Childcare Connect to an event in May 2018. 3. Liaising with Scottish Borders Council to promote and recruit young learners into childcare employment. Learner Journey 1. Producing a booklet detailing learner journey for childcare. 2. Increasing progression routes including Foundation Apprenticeships started in 2017- 18 to HNC Childhood Practice in 2019-20 3. Increasing progression routes from HNC Childhood Practice/SVQ 3 onto PDA/HND at SCQF Level 8. 4. Expansion of MA's following liaison with local employers and requests for places from SDS.

Early Learning and Childcare. The University was pleased to receive 16.5 additional funded places for BA Childhood Practice for entry in 2017-18, and we were able to translate these places to 33 additional headcount entrants. Strathclyde welcomes the SFC’s indication of further additional funded places for the 2018-19 intake to the BA Childhood Practice which will allow us to continue to make a specific contribution to support the delivery of significant growth in early learning and childcare (ELC) provision and we reiterate our commitment to helping address the need for further skilled practitioners by filling additional funded places made available, with a view towards helping meet Scottish Government ambitions in relation to Early Learning and Childcare.
Early Learning and Childcare. Context: What we will do:

Related to Early Learning and Childcare

  • Training and Orientation (a) No employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until he/she has received proper training and instruction. (b) The Employer shall provide sufficient and adequate training and/or orientation to any employee working in a new or unfamiliar work area or position.

  • Training and Promotion a. The contractor will assist in locating, qualifying, and increasing the skills of minorities and women who are applicants for employment or current employees. Such efforts should be aimed at developing full journey level status employees in the type of trade or job classification involved. b. Consistent with the contractor's work force requirements and as permissible under Federal and State regulations, the contractor shall make full use of training programs, i.e., apprenticeship, and on-the-job training programs for the geographical area of contract performance. In the event a special provision for training is provided under this contract, this subparagraph will be superseded as indicated in the special provision. The contracting agency may reserve training positions for persons who receive welfare assistance in accordance with 23 U.S.C. 140(a). c. The contractor will advise employees and applicants for employment of available training programs and entrance requirements for each. d. The contractor will periodically review the training and promotion potential of employees who are minorities and women and will encourage eligible employees to apply for such training and promotion.

  • Working and Labor Synergies The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining a tranquil working relationship between the Contractor work force, the Contractor Parties and their work force, State employees, and any other contractors present at the work site. The Contractor shall quickly resolve all labor disputes which result from the Contractor's or Contractor Parties’ presence at the work site, or other action under their control. Labor disputes shall not be deemed to be sufficient cause to allow the Contractor to make any claim for additional compensation for cost, expenses or any other loss or damage, nor shall those disputes be deemed to be sufficient reason to relieve the Contractor from any of its obligations under the Contract.

  • Training and Professional Development 11.1 The Employer will develop and maintain an employee training and development plan and provide such plan to the Union upon request. Staff training is intended to provide an opportunity for classified staff employees for training sponsored by the University Training and Development and the UW Medical Centers Organizational Development and Training. Education/Professional Leave is intended to facilitate employee access to continuing education opportunities. Training and educational/professional leave may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing staff for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities within the framework of staff positions available at the University. 11.2 Any release time for training for employees accepted for such classes shall be in accordance with the Executive Order (currently No. 52) governing this matter. In the event that two or more employees request the same training period and supervision must limit the number of persons who may participate at one time due to work requirements, the selection will be made on a mutually agreeable basis within the department. 11.3 The training program is a proper subject for discussion by either departmental or University-wide Joint Union/Management Committees. 11.4 If the Employer requires an employee to receive training, reimbursement will be provided in accordance with the University travel rules. Employee attendance at Employer required training, either during or outside working hours, will be considered time worked and compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. 11.5 Employee attendance at training not required by the Employer and not covered by Executive Order 52, either on approved leave from or outside of working hours, will be voluntary and not considered time worked.

  • Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Consulting Teachers (CT) will be assigned to all new teachers with no prior teaching experience and tenured teachers rated ineffective on the qualitative measures at the end of the previous school year and recommended by the PAR Panel. Evaluations for Probationary and Ineffective Teachers:

  • Data Portability Operator shall, at the request of the LEA, make Data available including Pupil Generated Content in a readily accessible format.

  • Switching and Tagging Rules The Developer and Connecting Transmission Owner shall each provide the other Party a copy of its switching and tagging rules that are applicable to the other Party’s activities. Such switching and tagging rules shall be developed on a nondiscriminatory basis. The Parties shall comply with applicable switching and tagging rules, as amended from time to time, in obtaining clearances for work or for switching operations on equipment.

  • Felling and Bucking Felling shall be done to minimize breakage of Included Timber and dam- age to residual timber. Unless agreed otherwise, felling shall be done by saws or shears. Bucking shall be done to permit removal of all minimum pieces set forth in A2. B6.411 Felling in Clearings. Insofar as ground conditions, tree lean, and shape of clearings per- mit, trees shall be felled so that their tops do not extend outside Clearcutting Units, construction clearings, and ar- eas of regeneration cutting. B6.000 Xxxxx Xxxxxxx. Stumps shall not exceed, on the side adjacent to the highest ground, the maximum heights set forth in A6, except that occasional stumps of greater heights are acceptable when Purchaser determines that they are necessary for safe and efficient conduct of logging. Unless otherwise agreed, Purchaser shall re-cut high stumps so they will not exceed heights specified in A6 and shall dispose of severed portions in the same manner as other logging debris. The xxxxx heights shown in A6 were selected with the objective of maximum reasonable utilization of the timber, unless Sale Area Map shows special areas where xxxxx heights are lower for aesthetic, land treatment, or silvicultural rea- sons.

  • Income Protection, Trauma and Journey Insurance The Employer is, and will remain during the life of this Agreement, a participating employer in the Nominated Redundancy Fund and an employer member of IPT Agency Co Ltd. IPT Agency Co Ltd administers the insurance schemes covering income protection, trauma and journey accidents (Income Protection, Trauma and Journey Accidents Insurance Schemes).
