Early Learning and Childcare. The College enrolled 25 full time students and 6 part-time students to the HNC in Childhood Practice in 2018/19. The College BDU provides a wide range of SVQs relevant to the Early Learning and Childhood sector. It will develop its plans for growth, with the aim of creating sufficient interest and an appropriately qualified workforce to undertake the higher level SSSC accredited programmes. During 2018/19, the College planned new course provision, a pre-MA course, to start in January 2019. Developed in partnership with the Scottish Borders Childcare Partnership this involves current employed staff completing an 18-week award at SCQF Level 4 as preparation for the MA. The College is also planning to deliver the PDA Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 8 for a group of staff currently employed in the Early Years sector. As a longer-term aspiration to address gender imbalance, the College plans to deliver a Career into Care event at a local Primary School and will work with the Regional DYW Industry Group to organise an awareness-raising event for secondary school pupils. We will continue to develop pipeline provision through the Schools Academy Skills for Work courses, Prepare to Care with Community Learning Development and Job Centre Plus.

This is likely to be the only SSSC Accredited programme that will attract sufficient numbers to be viable in the Borders Region in the near future. The Business Development Unit of the College provide a wide range of SVQs relevant to the Early Learning and Childhood sector. During the period of this outcome agreement it will develop its plans for growth, with the aim of creating sufficient interest and an appropriately qualified workforce to undertake the higher level SSSC accredited programmes. Early Learning and Childcare. The University was pleased to receive 16.5 additional funded places for BA Childhood Practice for entry in 2017-18, and we were able to translate these places to 33 additional headcount entrants. Strathclyde welcomes the SFC’s indication of further additional funded places for the 2018-19 intake to the BA Childhood Practice which will allow us to continue to make a specific contribution to support the delivery of significant growth in early learning and childcare (ELC) provision and we reiterate our commitment to helping address the need for further skilled practitioners by filling additional funded places made available, with a view towards helping meet Scottish Government ambitions in relation to Early Learning and Childcare.
Early Learning and Childcare. Context: Dumfries and Xxxxxxxx College staff are working closely with a team from Dumfries and Xxxxxxxx Council to continue to identify demand and delivery models to achieve the increase in childcare practitioners at HNC level for the region. It is a challenge to supply enough childcare placement opportunities to meet the high demands. The college is part of a discussion group with other colleges and councils regarding achieving childcare numbers. What we will do: Further meetings have taken place, and joint promotional materials, publicity arrangements, open events etc, have been arranged to further highlight the job opportunities and generate applications. The promotional material has been circulated electronically to all council establishments and private sector employers highlighting the open events and inviting them and their staff to attend. The college has implemented and will continue to offer a range of delivery models – full-time, part-time day and evening blended and online – in order to offer maximum flexibility for attendance. Dumfries and Xxxxxxxx Council will work with the college to ensure work placements are available to learners as this is a core requirement of the qualification.

  • Training and Orientation (a) No employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until he/she has received proper training and instruction.

  • TEACHING AND LEARNING This component captures institutional strengths in program delivery methods that expand learning options for students, and improve their learning experience and career preparedness. This may include, but is not limited to, experiential learning, online learning, entrepreneurial learning, work integrated learning, and international exchange opportunities.

  • Training and Technical Assistance COALITION will notify PROVIDER of the availability of training, technical assistance, and other targeted assistance in support of the provision of quality VPK services. COALITION will offer technical assistance for providers on probation. The technical assistance will be designed to facilitate the development and implementation of an improvement plan. The technical assistance will be offered in a manner and schedule prescribed by the COALITION or school district.

  • Skidding and Yarding Methods of skid- ding or yarding specified for particular areas, if any, are indicated on Sale Area Map.   • Tobacco Use Counseling and Intervention This plan covers smoking cessation programs when prescribed by a physician in accordance with R.I. General Law §27-20-53 and ACA guidelines. Smoking cessation programs include, but are not limited to, the following: • Smoking cessation counseling must be provided by a physician or upon his or her referral to a qualified licensed practitioner. • Over-the-counter and FDA approved nicotine replacement therapy and/or smoking cessation prescription drugs, prescribed by a physician, and purchased at a pharmacy. See the Summary of Pharmacy Benefits for details on coverage. Vaccinations/Immunizations This plan covers adult and pediatric preventive vaccinations and immunizations in accordance with current guidelines. Our allowance includes the administration and the vaccine. If a covered immunization is provided as part of an office visit, the office visit copayment and deductible (if any) will apply. Travel immunizations are covered to the extent that such immunizations are recommended for adults and children by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The recommendations are subject to change by the CDC. Preventive Screening/Early Detection Services This plan covers preventive screenings based on the ACA guidelines noted above. Preventive screenings include but are not limited to: • mammograms; • pap smears; • prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests; • flexible sigmoidoscopy; • double contrast barium enema; • fecal occult blood tests, screening for gestational diabetes, and human papillomavirus; and • genetic counseling for breast cancer susceptibility gene (BRCA). This plan covers colonoscopies in accordance with R.I. General Laws § 27-18-58. Covered healthcare services include an initial colonoscopy or other medical tests or procedures for colorectal cancer screening and a follow-up colonoscopy if the results of the initial test are abnormal. Contraceptive Methods and Sterilization Procedures for Women This plan covers the following contraceptive services: • FDA approved contraceptive drugs and devices requiring a prescription; • barrier method (cervical cap, diaphragm, or implantable) fitted and supplied during an office visit; and • surgical and sterilization services for women with reproductive capacity, including but not limited to tubal ligation. Breastfeeding Counseling and Equipment This plan covers lactation (breastfeeding) support and counseling during the pregnancy or postpartum period when provided by a licensed lactation counselor. This plan covers manual, electric, or battery operated breast pumps for a female member in conjunction with each birth event.

  • Training and Promotion a. The contractor will assist in locating, qualifying, and increasing the skills of minorities and women who are applicants for employment or current employees. Such efforts should be aimed at developing full journey level status employees in the type of trade or job classification involved.

  • Working and Labor Synergies The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining a tranquil working relationship between the Contractor work force, the Contractor Parties and their work force, State employees, and any other contractors present at the work site. The Contractor shall quickly resolve all labor disputes which result from the Contractor's or Contractor Parties’ presence at the work site, or other action under their control. Labor disputes shall not be deemed to be sufficient cause to allow the Contractor to make any claim for additional compensation for cost, expenses or any other loss or damage, nor shall those disputes be deemed to be sufficient reason to relieve the Contractor from any of its obligations under the Contract.
