Work Experience. Formula hour equivalents will be given on the basis of the following number of students enrolled at fourth week census: 5-14 students enrolled = 1 (one) formula hour 15-24 students enrolled = 2 (two) formula hours 25-34 students enrolled = 3 (three) formula hours
Work Experience. A sabbatical leave may be granted for contracted work or externship with other educational institutions, government agencies, corporations, or foundations related to the applicant’s discipline. A detailed, specific plan must be submitted by the applicant and approved by the Salary and Leaves Committee as likely to improve the applicant’s teaching effectiveness, strengthen the College’s academic program, or otherwise bring a clear benefit to students.
Work Experience. Non-teaching experience will be credited according to the relevance of that experience to the faculty member’s role at Evergreen. Fractional experience years can be granted for work that included a mixture of duties.
(1) Postdoctoral or research fellowships will be credited on a year-for-year basis.
(2) Work experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching will be credited on a year-for-year basis.
(3) Work experience not related to the faculty member’s teaching will be credited on a 1-year-for-2-years basis.
(4) Other credits depend on particular experiences and will be determined during the interview process. For example, credit will be given for Peace Corps experience and for Vista experience.
Work Experience a. All years of work related experience, excluding those years required for certification, shall be granted for salary purposes to those positions requiring work experience for certification and to school psychologists, social workers, audiologists, and speech therapists. Experience credit shall be reviewed and pay shall be based on what similar teachers with the same amount of experience credit are compensated.
b. Upon initial employment, teachers who fill positions for which work experience may be used or is required for certification, shall be granted either work experience credit (above that used toward certification) or teaching credit, for salary purposes.
c. Work experience may be combined for salary credit in the same manner as such combinations apply to certification based on work experience.
d. If a teacher transfers into a position for which work experience may be used or is required for certification, the teacher may apply work experience (above that which would have been used for certification) in lieu of teaching experience for salary purposes. Such adjustment shall be retroactive to the first day of employment of the fiscal year in which the teacher applies for the adjustment.
e. In no case shall both work experience and teaching experience, as used in conjunction with one another above, be granted for salary purposes if earned during the same calendar year.
f. Teachers who are certifiable in the critical needs areas of mathematics, science and exceptional education may be granted, upon initial employment, work experience credit for all years of work related experience. Work experience must be directly related to the position for which the teacher is hired, and documentation must be provided by the teacher for review and approval by Employment Services.
Work Experience. No more than twelve (12) consecutive months. The 8 work experience must be directly related to the employee's job 9 responsibilities.
Work Experience. Credit equivalency for work experience may be earned by instructors through approved employment, subject to administrative approval. The appropriate Department chair, where one is designated, will make initial review and approval prior to administrative review and approval. (See REGULATIONS, Item 7, below).
Work Experience. On-the-job experience related to the teaching field of a vocational teacher may be allowed for credit by the Superintendent/designee. Prior approval must be obtained in writing from the Superintendent/designee.
Work Experience. During the summer or while on leave, credit may be earned for employment or work experience that results in increased skill or knowledge related to the District performance standards for the staff member’s role group. This work experience must be significantly different from the staff member’s work in the District. One unit of credit requires 40 hours of work time. The maximum credit to be allowed for this type of activity is six units in one calendar year or 12 units throughout the teacher’s career in the PAUSD.
Work Experience. An equivalent of one (1) step for each two (2) years of relevant work experience beyond four (4) in industry or business or related experience. Credit for related work experience in the assigned discipline shall not pre-date the required certification. Part-time experience will be prorated on the two (2) semester year. Other part-time work experience prorated on the basis of a thirty-five (35) hour workweek and twelve (12) month year. Maximum credit for one (1) year is one (1) year.
Work Experience. Credit for full-time work experience prior to hiring for career technical teachers will be granted based on the employee’s level of education and years of related work experience. Newly hired career technical teachers with less than a Bachelor’s degree will be placed on the lowest certified salary schedule. Newly hired career technical teachers may be credited at a rate of one (1) year salary credit for every one (1) year of related full-time work experience.
