Education Association of St. Lucie Professional Technical Unit (ProTech) The leave will be counted as a year's teaching experience for salary purposes, and will not break continuity of service for the length of the leave. The release time personnel who have been granted the leave will, upon the expiration of such leave, be assigned to the employee's former position, if available, or to a comparable position for which the employee is certified and/or qualified, but not necessarily to the same school or grade level. The Education Association of St. Lucie shall indemnify and save the Board harmless against and from any and all claims, demands, suits, or other forms of liability that may arise out of granting a leave of absence for release time personnel.

  • Supervision of Student Teachers Paragraph 1: Supervision of a student teacher shall be voluntary.   • ASSOCIATION AND TEACHER RIGHTS A. Pursuant to Act 379 of the Public Acts of 1965, the parties hereby agree that teachers shall have the right freely to organize, join, and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in collective bargaining or negotiation and other concerted activities for mutual aid and protection. As a duly-elected body exercising governmental power under cover of law of the State of Michigan, the Board undertakes and agrees that it will not directly or indirectly discourage or deprive or coerce any teacher in the enjoyment of any rights conferred by Act 379 or other laws of Michigan or the Constitutions of Michigan and the United States; that it will not discriminate against any teacher with respect to hours, wages, or any terms or conditions of employment by reason of his/her membership in the Association, his/her participation in any activities of the Association or collective professional negotiations with the Board, or his/her institution of any grievance, complaint, or proceeding under this Agreement or otherwise with respect to any terms or conditions of employment. The Association likewise agrees that it shall not intimidate or coerce any teacher in the exercise of his/her rights set forth herein or under law.

  • Administration of Sick Leave The proper administration of sick leave is a responsibility of the employee and the department head. Unless otherwise provided in the supplemental sections of this MOU, the following procedures apply:
