Education Policy and Training Fund. The Employer will continue its policy of providing employees with the opportunity for individual growth and development. It is the objective of this policy to assist employees in achieving their highest potential of usefulness and personal fulfillment, within the limits of the Employer's economic capabilities and operational needs. Consistent with this policy, consideration shall be given any employee in any classification who requests to attend classes, seminars, workshops or lectures which will enhance the employee's capabilities to perform in his/her current position, or to advance in his/her career at the Hospital. Employee opportunities should include fundamentals that provide the basis for additional growth and formal education to obtain skills for other positions at the Hospital. In order to further this effort, the Employer will make available to bargaining unit employees, on a first-come, first served basis, a Training Fund to be used for direct training and educational aid for all employees, including to pay directly for non-Hospital instructors for classes held on site, for paid release time upon pre-approval of individual employee participants for programs selected by the Hospital, and for purchase of training and educational programs. The Employer will administer the Training Fund and provide reasonable procedures for selection of participants and programs. However, other aid and/or support described elsewhere in this Agreement including administrative staff salaries and expenses to administer and communicate about the opportunities will not be deducted from the Training Fund.

  • Education and Training The foundation of this Program is education and voluntary compliance. It is recognized that alcohol and chemical dependency may make voluntary cessation of use difficult, and one of the Program’s principal aims is to make voluntary steps toward ending substance abuse easily available. The outside contractor shall review and develop on-going educational and training information on the adverse consequences of substance abuse and the responsibility to avoid being under the influence of alcohol or chemicals at work. Certain training required by the DOT Regulations shall be the responsibility of the Substance Abuse Program.

  • Training and Education SECTION 1 – Law Enforcement Supervisors’ Training

  • Orientation and Training A transferring employee will be orientated separately to both or their new home in accordance with Article 20 the collective agreement of the designated employer.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • General Education University Program Requirements All MTA applicable courses require a grade “C” or higher

  • Education Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

  • PROCUREMENT ETHICS Contractor understands that a person who is interested in any way in the sale of any supplies, services, construction, or insurance to the State of Utah is violating the law if the person gives or offers to give any compensation, gratuity, contribution, loan, reward, or any promise thereof to any person acting as a procurement officer on behalf of the State of Utah, or who in any official capacity participates in the procurement of such supplies, services, construction, or insurance, whether it is given for their own use or for the use or benefit of any other person or organization.

  • Professional Development and Training The Company shall pay for or reimburse the Executive for any reasonable professional development or training.

  • General Education Requirements Students who intend to transfer to SUNY Buffalo State College with an A.A. or A.S. degree, will be considered as having fulfilled general education/Intellectual Foundations as long as they complete the 30 credits and 7 of 10 areas of SUNY-GER requirements prior to the start of their studies at SUNY Buffalo State College. Students should have successfully completed the SUNY-GER Basic Communication requirement with a grade of “C” or better, the mathematics requirement, and 5 of the remaining 8 categories. The student is responsible for fulfilling the SUNY Buffalo State College Diversity requirement.

  • STUDENTS AND TRAINEES Payments which a student, or an apprentice or business, technical, agricultural or forestry trainee, who is or was immediately before visiting a Contracting State a resident of the other Contracting State and who is present in the first-mentioned State solely for the purpose of his education or training receives for the purpose of his maintenance, education or training shall not be taxed in that State, provided that such payments arise from sources outside that State.
